Is Season Start Date Always April 1 or March 31 or has this been fixed?

One thing (minor) that bugged me about previous versions is the season always begins on April 1 (or perhaps March 31)... shouldn't it start on the closest Sunday to that date?

I've played since OOTP 2 and the season start is not always April 1. The default may be April 1, but you can change it to be whatever you want and/or the first Monday in April.

Yeah, choose the league and then options (you can only change the schedule in the pre-season I think). You'll have an option to change the season start date, another option to Force Start on Certain Weekday (you could make this Sunday if you wanted or any other day of the week), and there is an option to auto adjust the date based on one of the many XML schedules included with the game as well.

These options have been there as long as I can remember, at least since OOTP 7 when the game was re-written.

I think there were similar options in OOTP 2 through 6.5 as well, IIRC.

That's a settings matter and is affected by the schedule file you're using. The schedule files and in-game settings allow the user to set up a situation where the regular seasons starts on the first stated weekday on or after a specified date.
