Quick-Join Email, Where am I going wrong?
Quick Join Emails. Do they work? Or am I an idiot and missing something here.
Ive run an small two person online league for a while and I cant get the quick join codes to work for the new version. I'm trying to avoid using the old zip method. Buddy trying to use it keeps getting an error message that the game is trying to use default links to download the league file, and not the actual league links properly inputted in my master copy. Any help would be great!!! |

Hi!
Unfortunately I can't answer your question but I see that you said that you run a two person online league... How do you do this? I just asked a question on this same new to the game forum yesterday so I would really appreciate any help. This is the thread that I created: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ague-free.html |

I run a two person league online using allsimbaseball.com to get setup. I've done it for several years actually. Fidel help me set it up, and I recommend him highly. Its about 50 bucks a year. I don't know of a free way. I'd be happy to detail what little knowledge I've gained over the years through trial and error if you need a little more guidance. For some reason, I have never found a comprehensive "how to set up an online league" guide. It really sets the entry level barrier high for everyone except the few that are fluent in both OOTP and computers.

and by the way, no one has a clue how the thing on the front page of the game functions? Quick Join OOTP League? I guess I'm just frustrated that this thing is on the front page of the game and yet there isn't anything written about it anywhere or how to use it. (according to google). except this in the road to release. "Easy one-click joining of online leagues".

Quick Join EMail
If this works, it will make getting other players signed into online leagues a lot either.
I had no idea how to set an online league, until I came across Fidel's AllSim Baseball. His instructions are very clear... and it works. Unless a person is a computer expert, figuring out the online settings is very very challenging. I sent a Quick Join eMail for my online league, but now can't remember how I sent it. I came across this feature by accident and sent one yesterday and my friend got the eMail, but when he tried to join the league, he got an error message - "could not find the league's tar.gz file. After making a couple of adjustments, I am trying to send another Quick Join eMail, but I can't remember how to send another "Quick Start eMail." I tried searching the Manual without success. I have been fussing with this for 6 hours now. I just can't remember where in OOTP 14, I stumbled across the "Quick Join" eMail feature. |
