Ratings different on different screens
Not sure if this is a bug, but I'm seeing different ratings being shown depending on the screens. This is confusing the heck out of me.
It doesn't matter which type of scouting I use in the "free agents" screen, it's totally different from the "scouting reports" screen. But as you can see the "other ratings" in the player profile, is the same as the ones listed on the "free agents" screen. Anyone else sees this issue, or is something else happening that I don't understand? Click to see larger: |

I don't see the issue. The overall and potential ratings are the same and the CON, POW, and EYE ratings match on the scouting report. Am I missing something?

Well, first look at the first image.
Overall - 21 Potential - 74 Then look at the third image. OSA says: Current - 21/80 Potential - 21/80 My Scout says: Current - 20/80 Potential - 28/80 The one on the second image does match the one on the first image, however where does it come from, if neither scouting reports says that rating is correct? |

The overall rating on the player's profile page and list of players is relative to other players at that position at that exact moment. So it is always changing. The scouting report isn't as accurate when it comes to that. Worry about the ratings on the player profile. Just use the scouting report to track player development and stuff.
The individual ratings are the same on the scouting report and on the profile though. So it isn't as if there are two different scouting reports. The overall rating things is weird, but the one on the profile is all that matters. If you have a player rated 50/80 at Centerfield on his profile. That means at that moment he in the middle of the pack. |

Ah ok that makes sense. I've been going about this the wrong way this whole time! *facepalm*
Ok so I guess I'll just use the scouting reports to evaluate development then. Good thing it didn't get me into too much trouble in my league. I somehow got the Pittsburgh Pirates to #1 in the Central at the All-Star break in 2014 right now despite making this mistake. Thanks for the help! |

Yeah no problem. I was equally confused by it! That is why I've been searching the forums.
I'm new to the game as well. But reading the manuel mostly helped me answer this. The scouting report doesn't take into account the current talent pool. So the scouting report might say a particular middle reliever is below average. But if the middle relief talent pool is really weak in MLB, then that below average reliever is more valuable thus making his rating higher! |
