Historical Ballpark Splits

Markus, congrats on the release!

Can you throw in the ability to import lefty/righty ballpark splits from the historical database for avg. and HR? I was hoping that would make it into this version.

I don't think this is going to happen. Unless there are complete and comprehensive splits for all stats an not just AVG and HR, OOTP probably isn't going to use them.

As it is, the game creates fictional splits for individual players. I don't foresee this changing because I don't think splits data exist for all of baseball history.

Actually, I was talking only about the ballpark splits that are imported each year from the database when playing historical. The game only imports one factor each for avg, 2b, 3b, and HR - even though in the game the stadium factors have fields for LH and RH batters in avg and HR. So for example, although Yankee Stadium has historically been a much better HR ballpark for left-handed hitters than righties, the game imports the factors from the database as the same. It's far too tedious to overwrite these for every ballpark year over year, especially when it seems like a couple of fields can be added to the import database and handle it nicely automatically. I've requested this several times over a couple of different versions, but still haven't had a response as to why it seems this isn't do-able. For those who play historical fiction, or even historical with real players, I'm surprised that this hasn't been more of a priority to request a quick fix.
