Unlikeliest Seasons
In my super-long running fictional league, Alfredo Rosa, in his first season with Cumberland Valley of the West Shore League, hit .391. He's a career .314 hitter, so that's not totally crazy. Except two things:
1) His best year before this one was a .355 mark. 2) He's 39. Unfortunately, he doesn't quality for the title, as he only played in 112 games (we have a 154-game schedule here). But a 39-year-old hitting .391 in 396 at-bats...that's crazy to me. There are several other amazing outputs to share at some point (not tonight, but some point). But, to this end, I ask...what player had a season that made you do a double-take? |

dola--
The next season (2041), Jose Jet Martinez hit .431 with 31 HR and 83 RBI. He did that in 49 games, before a torn ACL wiped out his season. He's only 27, and should make a full recovery...but that would have been the best season ever seen in this league, and not even close. I'm hoping he makes a good run at it next season. |
