Too many runners thrown out advancing

Way too many runner are being thrown out trying to either score on a medium to deep sac fly or advance to third on a long fly to an outfielder with an average or less arm. OOTP 13 had base running pretty much perfect. Don't know if baserunning was tweaked in 14 but it may need to be looked at and retweaked. I'm see this problem in three different historic leagues, 1938, 1969, and 1980. I will post this over in the problems area but I was just curious if any of those others who play out a large number of games have noticed this?

Got it. I found that the Outfielder Assist coefficient in the League Modifiers screen is substantially different in ootp14 and ootp13 for leagues created with the same starting year. IE, I created two leagues in ootp13 and ootp14, 1969 and 1980. The Outfielder Assist modifier in ootp13 is 1.251 and 1.455 respectively and for ootp14 it's 2.019 and 1.978 respectively. The lower Outfield Assist modifier for ootp13 give better, more lifelike thrown out runner stats. The question is; Why is this modifier created so much higher in ootp14?

For the time being, I'm going to manually edit the Outfield assist modifier in ootp14 to match the OA modifier for the corresponding start year in ootp13.

Let me add to your observation and say that stealing is terribly wrong as well. I'm replaying the 1972 season and Cesar Cedeno has stolen 1 base and been thrown out 5 times. The guy stole over 50 bases that season and those numbers should pretty much be reversed.

Unless there is something I'm missing beyond choosing 4 (steal 2nd base), I don't understand this result.

Are you picking your spots to steal?

You'll have more success if the catcher has a poor arm.

Interesting observation concerning the outfield assist modifier, but to determine which of them produces the most realistic results is still in the air. As I understand your complaint is based on your gut feelings and not on hard facts from a large enough sample. Play a season , compile the outfield assists and compard them to real life numbers. If this results in a significant discrepancy then we can start a valid bug discussion, not a second earlier.

So where's the numbers (actual assists per outfielder)?? No offense, but if you're gonna make a statement like that, you got to back it up with long term numbers.
For the 2013 season mine are:
all settings at default, ai contolled it all. checked the fielding assists stats all outfield positions and the highest was 11 individual assists. I've no clue on what average assists per outfielder per yr. are in real life, but I sure can't see there being way to many in game. not even close unless you consider a yearly ave. of 8.62 assists per RF, 5.73 per CF and 4.80 per LF to high. Or 5.59 outfield assists ave. every 15 games. If my math is correct that's 5.59/ (3x15)=0.1242222 assists per outfield position per game. I'm not disputing your results, just showing mine and when we show Markus problems, we need to show the numbers and lots of em.
Thanks for taking the time to mention a potential problem.
