Nippon League

So you may or may not have noticed me prodding around in a couple of topics on this issue, so I figured instead of derailing those threads to just create a new one and have the discussion here.

Anyone ever created the Japanese League existing with the MLB in a satisfactory way?

What I am looking for is the various settings you used for financial, player creation modifiers and otherwise that gets the Japanese league to have the right talent level compared to the MLB, the proper financial environment so players salaries make sense to what we see today in japan, and also ideally player movement.

Would like to see the occasional Japanese superstar hit free agency and be able to warrant serious look by MLB and actually be a superstar there, while the majority are not so fortunate. Also have the Japanese league as a place for not so good MLB vets to go and finish their career.

Also how best do you think to set up these new options we have with International FAs and what not? I figure to just have them ignore Japan and have all my Japanese talent come from the Nippon League.

Anyway, just looking for a differential here, the more opinions the better, and seeing if anyone has had experience in trying this, for better or worse.

I did this back in version 12 so I can't speak to just how effectively it'd work in this one, but when I ran it I had great results.

I kept it simple and put the financial settings twenty years behind the majors. For the modifiers I tried to create as realistic a japanese league as possible so I poured through some scouting reports to see how their talent level compared to the majors.

Just setting all the japanese modifiers the same doesn't represent their league properly I feel like. When I ran my league I had batting contact and eye set at .980 while gap power was at .950 and pure power at .920. I ticked the base running stats down to .980 as well.

Japanese pitchers can really hurl the ball ala Hideo Nomo so you don't need to think with pitching too much, I just see all the pitching cpm's to .950.

I would like to think these should still yield good results. The level of talent should be lowe then the Majors but you should still get the occasional Ichiro and Matsui. Plus when an average US player crosses over they should be one of the best players in the japanese league. Give these a shot and let me know how they still work
