Question for Experienced Users

I played 13 and loved it and have pre ordered 14. What a great product. Markus and the crew should feel proud of having a game that can so accurately re-create all aspects of baseball. My question to guys that have been around a while...I bought 13 late in the summer after a lot of the patches were out so I'm sure the game was almost perfect. When 14 is released Friday is it safe to go ahead and start a franchise or do you guys usually wait until a couple of patches come out? I will just do a Major League quicksim, no historical leagues and not much tinkering with settngs.

I intend to start playing more or less as soon as I get home from work on Friday (preordered). I know several players (particularly those who are still engrossed in 13) may wait at least a bit just to make sure there are no huge bugs that crop up after release.

for me 13 was fine on release day. The patches only added stuff for me, and added stuff I very much wanted too, such as the ability to tell the game I am acting as just a Human GM, and not as the manager, and stacking scouting requests.

In fact, one of the patches created an issue, but it was small and fixed rather quickly.

I say pick it up and start playing, its not a game that should require several patches before it becomes playable. This isn't Ubisoft after all....or Bethesda.

Pick it up and have fun out of the gate BUT beware that any new release of software may very well have it's issues so don't be surprised/too upset if/when their are issues.

I plan on starting a new online league but that won't happen till 14 has been out awhile. That said I will start playing it Friday.

I don't think I've ever waited and I don't remember having any issue.

I've never had a problem. The only reason I've needed (or wanted) to restart a league in the past is if there was significant updates to the rosters.

For me I bought 13 the day it came out, i did not preorder. For 14. I am going to wait til the 1st patch comes out. I am doing this for a handful of reasons. I am saving every nickel & dime to buy a new car by May 15th. This also gives me added time to finish all my active leagues current season. 13 was good to go on release day and Cras is right the patches just added new bells & whistles.
I also had an issue moving one league from 11 to 12 to 13 and have had to redo this league, my main league 3 times since. Other 2 times were my fault.
