3B Deepak Khabra AA New Britain (Twins AA)

Deepak is starting at a new position (3rd) either hitting 6th (vs Righties) or leading off (versus lefties). Hopefully, the Rock Cat can put 2016 behind him.

SP Eric Montross, AA Mobile (Arizona AA)

The Montross is taking flight in AA. One of three pitchers in the semi-senior circuit this year, he'll have to make a big leap from his stats in High A. The 2016 Midwest League All-Star will hopefully improve upon a lousy performance in Visalia.

UTIL Jeffery Lage, A St. Lucie (Mets A)

Lage is in A Ball, unfortunately, where he is unfortunate enough to back up at about six or seven positions. Lage has probably been handled the roughest by the game, and after a promising campaign in Low A, has struggled. He has some pop in his bat, which should serve him useful, yet he seems to have hit his ceiling in Low A ball.

SP Lindsay Handburn

Lindsey "Lil' Firecracker" is the next pitcher in line to join Create a Career, and he looks like the other pitchers did. Lil' Firecracker has the stamina to stick as a starter, which is good, and comps well to the success story Scott Fields, which is also good. A lot depends on where Handburn is drafted.. if he can get a first round pick we'll know Lindsey is legit.

Mike "Mullet" Hegstrand, AAA Columbus (Cleveland AAA)

Mullet got a brief cup of coffee in Spring, but will have to settle for being the cleanup man in AAA. Hegstrand is one of the strongest prospects left developing a mean power stroke. He should join pal Crash Davis in ML pretty soon.

Rusty Priske, A Clearwater (Phillies A)

You aren't seeing things. The poet has yet again fooled us with his twisty career. That velocity really did jump 2 MPH over the off-season, and that Sinker is reader for major league play. "The Poet" could very well get a call up to Double-A, or possibly just dominate High A.

SP Strawberry Fields, AA Arkansas (Los Angeles AA)
Fields was traded, along with MR Colin Balester, for OF Josh Hamilton

And yes, it's that Josh Hamilton, him of the drinking problem and the mighty bat, still near-all star quality. Balester is filler at this point, so Fields was the headline of the package to bring a Star to the Bay. Fields may one day be a star in his own right as he seems to get better each and every year. AA will be a test for Fields who was mediocre at High A San Jose.

1B Shaun Cameron, AAA New Orleans

Cameron is cleaning up in AAA. The Marlins are expected to finish exactly as last season (80-82), which means he could be part of a playoff chase, but Shaun could benefit from development. He is DH'ing this season, which is interesting, as Shaun doesn't hit for power.

Tell me if you want to get a trade! umm. yeah
Got a lot to do this week, should be a sim up Thursday or Friday.
Hope Cleveland plays well this year (and promotes Bums) or we won't have much to talk about.

Lage would like a trade, maybe a change in scenery will do him well.

Who won the rookie of the year last season? Not that Crash deserved it with his sad average, but just for comparison.

Thanks!

C Crash Davis, Cleveland Indians
CRASH is representing the AMERICAN LEAGUE in the ALL-STAR GAME!
CRASH is awarded, by the commissioner, the BARNSTORMER BAT (GOLD) for his accomplishments.
I'm a bit disappointed in his lack of contact this season. Crash is playing well so far, and should get better throughout the season.

SS Timmy Hawk, Chicago (AL)

Hawk's slow start was cut short when he tore his labrum in Late May. Hawk's season is not totally lost -- he should return in September.

RF Barry Bums, Springfield Cardinals
Demoted to AA (July)
Traded to St. Louis for LF Raniel Rosario

Barry finally got some at-bats with an ML team, and played well in very limited burn. However, come the time for Summer Call-Ups, Bums was once again cast aside to AA Springfield, where he will back up.

I think a season starting anywhere would help Bums revitalize his career. It's disappointing he isn't getting starts in the high minors.

Just watched the video and one note of import to nobody other than me...

Priske is pronounced PRISK. The E is just silent.

Priske had a bad April, but has recovered quite a bit. He's getting a second chance as a starter, as well, but I don't see it lasting
