Definitely looks a bit more cartoonish this year, but that's okay, I don't play for the looks (Though I will be getting park pics once I get off work, thanks for that). And I eagerly await the player editor, since you obviously have something against the Braves, they're severely underrated.
Thanks for pointing it out. We will continue to track cosmetic errors like this and fix them.

For the more cartoonish look: as a niche product we have to find some middle ground between hardcore features and more casual looks. If only hardcore baseball-textsim gamers buy the game we will not see any further versions. So the look is a small price we have to pay to lure in casual user and make them addicted to this wonderful type of games.

Sorry from my side.
The new interface, I feel many screens as confusing/hard to read.
As a result, I overlooked a few things. I'll get used to it.

Great game!
It's in a different place on the iPhone than it is on the iPad.

On the iPad you have to go to "Default View".
On the iPhone is on the "Batter Rating" & "Pitcher Rating" Screens.

I hadn't really played these on my iPad until today, so I kind of freaked out when I didn't see it at first.

wider screen mandate

in response to an earlier comment, I have read that Apple is now requiring all apps to take advantage of the wider or taller screen on the Iphone 5. So I am guessing that all updates for this game will be required to take advantage of the larger screen?

Baseball Manager at 101%

Since I play iOOTP 2013, previously 2012, I now have my iPad, in addition to my iPhone, if possible always and everywhere.

Wait, pause, boredom (I don't care anymore if my girlfriend stay in the bath for decades ) - if possible, I am working on my team and my fictional league.
Recovered my pitcher in meantime ? What's in the e-mail manager XY sended me? How do the players in the minor league? Where do I get a better catcher? A suspended player, how do I change the depth chart? And, and, and.

This reminds me of the time of the Tamagotchi.

Terrific game. Looks and plays great on iPad. I'm hooked.

In terms of feedback -- The one thing I find a little disappointing is the play-by-play (pbp) presentation. A lot more could be done to make this more interesting for the player. Some examples -- I really wish pbp consistently indicated type of pitch thrown and velocity. The announcer will very occasionally give you this info, but I'd like to see it every pitch. My dream would be to have a 2D visual graphic of the batter's box, that showed pitch location with respect to the strike zone, in additon to pitch selection and velocity.

I'd also love to get the batter's basic stats (current BA + boxscore production for the game) when they come up to bat.

Things can start to get a little too generic in the pbp as it currently stands. When you get calls like, "Here's the second pitch -- a strike" -- you really just want to shake the announcer by the shoulders and say "Be a little more specific, please!"

Since the heart of the game experience is the pbp, I really would love to see this spruced up a little more to make it more engaging and informative.

(As a total newbie to OOTP, I just wanted to say that, based on my experience so far with iOOTP, I will definitely be buying OOTP14 for my pc when it comes out next week!)

Only thing i wish was easier was pinch hitting. I always have trouble hitting the little substitution button next to the player. Wish there was just a 'Pinch Hit' button when you bring up the Strategies button and you could just select the player. Kind of like how you bring in a new a pitcher.

I also wish it wouldn't keep saying 'Click anywhere to proceed' after every pitch. Once or twice was enough. Anyway to make it only appear like once a game or something?

I preferred the interface from 2012. I also liked the loading screen better. Not sure why, Just liked the blue color from before.

I sometimes have issues with size of the arrows as I do typing this post with the small iPhone virtual keyboard. Try a rubber stylus. It works better and more precise.

iOOTP Baseball 2013 Feedback

Something strange has happened.

I'm a total newbie to OOTP.
I'm not a baseball fan, I know most of the rules, and I know some of the basic strategies and tactics (all very basic).

I like to play computer games and am a huge fan of management simulations, especially if they are animated sporty.

Now I have finished my first season with iOOTP 2013, and I ... become champion!???
And even though I actually do not really know or understand baseball.

It may not be possible for a novice, a beginner, a no educatet, to win the championship in the first year, or get close to it!

I hope that was just a coincidence, just luck.
Otherwise this game would be a big disappointment to me!

Now we find a strong color contrast.

Now all looks more caroonish and childish and less as a “serious” simulation.

The larger letters might be an advantage when playing on the iPhone.
On my iPad they looks rather bulky.

The ball park pic is definitely to colourful now, become to glossy.

Now that the designs are available, why there is not the possibility that the user can pick his preferred color scheme optional?

I asked this under another heading but it seems to have gotten buried. I don't like continually starting new threads so I am hoping to get an answer here as it's close to relevant and an active thread. It has to do with transferring my 2012 game to 2013. I understand the instructions but here is my question: When I transfer my saved game and complete the season I started in in iOOTP12 (currently in 1982) using '13 and buy 1983 do I get real rookies or continue with fictional players?

To be honest, I never tried it but I'm pretty sure you get real rookies as the game has no clue that you transfered your save.

Did you play-out every game? Which team? Did you set everything to CPU and just sim? We need more info to determine if you earned your first championship.

Maybe you had a power-house team. But thats the beauty of (i)OOTP: play the way you want. Take over a bad team and turn them into a contender. Play every game, some or none, replay history, do fictional or follow the actual season. The possibilities are endless ...

In the second year of my league my team again is top notch. Until now, the game is not very demanding to me.
