Hi Chris,

Every opinion matters to me, good or bad. I am always open to other people posting on my topics, and I appreciate when it happens.

As far as your question, sometimes I will play games out, especially if I wanna take a look at somebody I am thinking about bringing up or a newcomer to the team. Sometimes I will do a real time sim if I want to work on some possible transactions and roster moves. But I would say that 90% of my games are just quick simmed. I would love to play out every game but it would take me months to get through 1 season. I do try to at least watch a few games a season.

Thanks for the post, keep reading and posting, much appreciated!

Good Morning

Now, if I wanted to get a team in Virginia...how would I go about doing that? New Fictional or is that a standard game, and you checked a setting that allowed you to insert a team in whatever city you want one?

Are you wanting to use the actual MLB lineups? If so, then start a game with the 2012 MLB lineups from the main start screen, then go to league setup options. Somewhere in there (Don't remember exactly where) but there is an option for league expansion. Or you can start a fictional league and set up teams how you want, but it will have fictional players. Really however you wanna do it. I used the 2012 MLB start and league expansion

June 11-17, 2012

Record: 28-47, .373
Position: Last in AL Central, 11 GB
Power Ranking: 65.2, 31st in MLB
Owner Mood: Unhappy
Fan Interest: 79/100
This Week: 2-3 (1-1 @ Seattle, 1-2 vs. Kansas City)

GM Notes

Well at least fan interest went up by 1 and the owners mood is a little better. Lots of signings this week, as Thomas Hancock signed a minor league contract. He is closing games in Fremont right now, as his stamina just isn't good enough to be a major league starter. Once I bring him up to Wichita, I may put him in the bullpen. He won't see the big team this season though. Another guy that signed that will be in Fremont all season is Carlos Mejia, our second round draft pick.

One of the reasons fan interest is higher is because we resigned Andre Ethier to a 5 year, $102,750,000 contract. Way more than I wanted to spend on him, but the fans and the owner wanted him to stay in Wichita. He is only a 3 star player now, but I hope he will produce. Also signed to contracts were Zach Duke and Chris McConnell. Duke has been lights out in the bullpen this season, so he's getting an extra 3 years. McConnell is the shortstop of the future in Wichita, with 4 star potential. Next week is all-star week so it'll be a short week. Once my other 2 draft picks sign, I'll be taking a trip to Fremont to get a look at all of them.

Record: 29-51, .362
Position: Last in AL Central, 12 GB
Power Ranking: 58.3, 31st in MLB
Owner Mood: Upset
Fan Interest: 78/100
This Week: 1-4 (1-2 @ Baltimore, 0-2 vs. Toronto)

GM Notes

The bad news.. we are getting worse. The good news.. our minor league system has now been rated #1 by Major League Baseball. We've got 7 prospects in AAA that have a 4 or 5 star potential. I've got 2 1/2 years to build them up to that potential before I have to worry about losing my job. Brad Peacock and Lance Lynn have struggled since coming to Wichita, and I am considering making some changes to the personnel. Things are gonna have to change soon. I'm all for an expansion team rebuilding, I mean most expansion teams aren't very good their first year. But to have a hitting coach like Terry Pendleton and be last in the AL in pretty much every offensive category is unacceptable.

June 25-July 1, 2012

Record: 33-54, .379
Position: Last in AL Central, 13 GB
Power Ranking: 65.3, 28th in MLB
Owner Mood: Upset
Fan Interest: 75/100
This Week: 4-3 (1-0 vs. Toronto, 1-2 vs. White Sox, 2-1 @ Detroit)

GM Notes

I am very pleased with how the week turned out. Our pitching was spectacular this week, so much so that our starting era ranking is now 15th, not 16th in the AL. This is an improvement in itself. Our bullpen continues to be strong.

Dice-K made his first start of the season and pitched great. A couple roster moves as we acquired Domonic Brown from Philadelphia. He is now our starting RF. Andre Ethier will split time between LF and DH. Also, as previously mentioned Dice-K finished his rehab stint and made his first appearance of the season with the Wranglers. Marlon Byrd also finished his rehab stint and is now back with the Wranglers in CF. A promising week, and if we can end every week the rest of the season at .500 or better, I think it will give us a good lead into next season.

Well folks, I've decided that I am going to purchase OOTP 14 after all. I was on the fence about it since money is tight, but the new features and changes are making it feel like a must-get game. So.. that being said, I'm scratching this dynasty report. I did consider just importing this over to OOTP 14, but I want to start fresh with the current rosters. I have not decided if I'm going to do expansion, and if I do expansion, if I am going to run an expansion team for a third try or run a current MLB team. Decision decisions. As it stands this is on hold until I get OOTP 14 tomorrow and then I will make yet ANOTHER attempt at a dynasty report. The next one I plan on keeping long term.
