Expanded Real-Time
Expanded Real-Time Simulation Experience
The real-time simulation feature was a big hit in OOTP 13 - all of you loved it! We have listened to your feedback and improved the experience, such as adding an expanded view on a single game that is currently in progress. This new view shows you the most important facts of the selected game, like the current batter-pitcher matchup, past plays, basic box scores, win probability, and so forth. I am really liking how this feature could shape up. I would just like to put my 2 cents in. Anyone else is welcome to make suggestions also. 1. I'd like to see at least the offensive team's lineup/box score along with some basic stats. 2. It would be nice to see who is on base, as well as what fielders are playing what positions on some sort of generic field graphic. 3. If there is a way, maybe a simple way to display pitch location 4. Announce Pitching Changes Any other ideas? Last edited by PSUColonel; 02-23-2013 at 01:07 AM. |

I really like the real time feature but it's hard to picture what the expanded one looks like to even make a suggestion. Any way to get a screenie? And how would this be better than just going into the pbp? Would it show all this info for every game in progress at the same time?

All I really care about is making it so that you can "pin" a couple of games to the top of the RTS screen, because it's extremely annoying to A) have to scroll back and forth to watch two concurrent games at once, and B) have a game disappear from your screen at a crucial moment because a game above it finished.

I don't think this feature is about watching multiple games...it is about watching one game in much greater detail. If you are watching multiple games, you would use the current real-time screen. I think it's the equivalent of going to MLB.com looking at the "scores" page, and the clicking on one of the games to open up "game center" or whatever it's called. As for the disappearing game, it should wait a minute or so before placing it at the bottom.

Because it is in real-time mode, meaning you can still "surf" around the game in much easier fashion. It is the same as watching the real-time scoreboard now, but you will have the ability to focus on just one game if you like...and therefore greater detail.
EDIT: In fact, if I were Markus, I might at some point consider moving away from the "in game" webcast experience, and have it done from real-time mode....but that would be down the road. I really do believe real-time mode was a revolutionary step towards much bigger things for the future. It can create a very realistic environment. I'd love to see a ballpark creator at some point, and then incorporate it into finances. Then the individual ballparks could be used in real-time sim mode much the way they are in the MLB game cast. So you would have different images for each park that the game would recognize. You will also notice an opportunity to incorporate some graphics. Ok, I can sort of see some advantage for some people in being able to surf around the game and coming back to a more expanded real time. I think the regular real time is great but, for me, at this point I don't see any advantage in the expanded. But I was negative about the basic real time last year so I think maybe I don't know enough about the expanded to make an informed decision.
