I am still nervous about the cinder blocks in the infield and cans of gasoline in the bullpen but I am eternally optimistic that the bats and starting pitching will make it all moot.

Maybe they can go buy a few more donkellys for the stockroom just in case.

Thanks for the links. It reminds me that I have to get down to New London to see the Connecticut Tigers this summer. I meant to go back in 2011 when Colin Kaline was there but never got around to it.

Watching the defense today was nerve-wracking. >.<

Peralta missing that easy ground-ball made me wince. Damn, I really wish they had gotten that upgrade for SS over the winter.

You're quite welcome. If I have the time, I'll try to ferret out the local newspaper(s) that cover those teams and post the links as well. If nothing else, everyone can at least read about what's happening with the farm system. Makes me wish we had an info center like OOTP's, just to track everyone, heh.

New London Day Sports Section. They covered Colin Kaline pretty heavily the summer that he played there. Not sure how much ink they give the team otherwise but I would have to guess a fair amount. Other than legion ball, that's it for baseball in that town over the summer.

Here's an article from when Kaline's grandson was in town. The team is actually next door in Norwich but this is the paper of record.

First game for the Tigers is on Monday, April 1st, at 4:10 Eastern, playing at the Twins. TV: FS-D. Radio: 97.1 The Ticket.

For those of you who cannot watch or hear the games due to being out of market, there's several options.

(Please note that I am not advertising these services; I'm merely listing them as options for the serious Tiger baseball fan in case they are unaware of these services.)

1. Free Gameday, both at the Tigers homepage and at ESPN. It's remarkably similiar to OOTP's live-game module, with no sound, but they tend to be a little behind everything. It's a free alternative, and you can at least see things unfold. There's free video highlights on the Tigers homepage after the game as well.

2. A low-cost way of following games is Gameday Audio/MLB, live or on-demand at $19.99/year.

3. Live or on-demand television, premium MLB.TV. It's a bit pricey for my taste, but it's an option if you really, really need your Tigers video fix. $129.99/year or $24.95/month. Gives you home and away games and streaming to various wireless devices.

The other MLB TV option doesn't appear to have both home and away, so... *shrug*

Wouldn't surprise me if the Twins lost 100 this year - they're not looking very good at the moment.

Then again, they're up against Verlander. Any team will look like little leaguers against him.

I've got them winning between 70 and 79 and I'd narrow it down more to 75-79. They're going to be able to score some runs. The trouble is going to be preventing them.

You have my deepest sympathies. It's not a fun position to be in. I remember how I felt when the Tigers couldn't win a game to save their lives a decade ago.
