Exclamation Newcomer to OOTP 14

I had always been a Mogul fan and only now opening my eyes and is very excited to purchase FHM and cannot wait for it's september release.

Please do not throw stuff at me as I am trying to find out how good OOTP Baseball is.

I have a few questions about the game, I hope someone can help me out.

Now I downloaded the trial version of OOTP 13. I started tinkering with the interface and I love it, there is just so much information to sift through.

Now I made my first trade and that was the 12 player blockbuster that the jays made with Miami. Now I see it is very hard to make that trade in this game. I had to up my projected budget by 50M!

The trade was made and I started reading all the emails I got. The neat thing about this game is you get fan reaction and you see a decrease/increase in fan support. Here is my first question.

1. Where can I see the level or overness of my fans? I looked almost everywhere and cannot find that feature, is there a feature like this?

2. Is it easy to create new players or edit players in this game?

3. When you look through your organization and player profiles they get overness out of 20, I am used to a player having overness out of 100, will there be something like that created for OOTP 14?

4. Can you create and expansion team at the beginning of the season? and how can I do this?

5. There is no faces in the game, is there a pack I can download? how can you install it? What about Logos for teams? what about Logos for expansion teams?

6. How many years can you sim in OOTP 13? is it infinite?

Thank you for giving your answers.

If I have more I will post some.

On the sidebar with all the buttons, you should see a "$" symbol and on there you can see your market size, fan loyalty, and fan interest. You can see actual total attendance by clicking the "advanced info" tab on that same screen.

Yes. If you select commissioner mode you will be able to create new players and edit them very easily.

This is already in the game. I don't know if you can do it in the demo (never played the demo), but all you have to do is go to the league settings (little wrench button on middle of the toolbar), click the "global setup" tab, and you'll see a ratings scale section where you will be able to change the scale of the ratings you see.

You can only expand in the offseason and preseason.

What kind of faces are you looking for? I'm assuming you're talking about real faces which I think there is a pack for that but I've never done that. Someone else could probably answer this question better.

As much as you want or at least for as long as your hardrive can hold up! In one of my leagues, I started in 2012 and I'm now in 2179. Neat stuff. It's very cool to have your own history.

Good luck OOTP-ing!

:lobs random fruit:

I'll take a couple of the easy ones...

5) There is a menu selection called Add-On Central, I think in the main game menu. In Add-On Central there is an All-in-One mod that has logos, faces, uniforms, etc... for MLB.

6) Yes. The only real limitations are your memory. After a couple hundred years, you might have memory problems. But the game will not stop at any date.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

I also used to play Sports Mogul. Welcome to a ride you won't want to get off of.

I like a number of people on the boards used to play Sports Mogul. I played that for a few years than discovered this game 3 or 4 years ago and never looked back. Unless Sports Mogul has made huge improvements you should find OOTP much more flexible. I like to customize my game and found this one much more to my liking. The modders here have done a great job with making real world and custom images.

Risk2014, thanks for asking the questions that many of us first timers are probably afraid to ask. OOTP14 is my first time playing the franchise and I could have envisioned myself asking many of the same questions you just did. To all who responded, thanks for the help as I am eagerly awaiting to play this game.

If you new guys will read the OOTP 13 online manual while you're waiting you will learn pretty much everything you need to know, and 95+% will apply directly to OOTP 14.

I switched over to OOTP when Baseball for Windows went belly up - that was some 5 years ago or so for me.

Do. It.

you will want the historical facegen pack for real player images, this is pretty amazing and has thousands of old and new MLB players, plus people are constantly making facegens for new players, check out and you can even create yourself in the game (with a 3D model)

I personally switched from Baseball Mugol about 3 years ago, started by playing OOTP 8 which was free at the time and then bought OOTP 11 because of how much I liked the old version, figured the newest version would blow that away (which it did). I actually tried OOTP because of the ability to customize league awards and the HOF, I am not sure if Mugol has changed but you couldn't do that in the past with it.

2 days ago I FINALLY convinced my brother to try this game. He has played Mogul for years. He bought OOTP13 but based on his reaction so far, I'm pretty sure an OOTP14 purchase isn't far behind.

His refusal to even try it was driving me nuts..now I can sleep again.
