Beta Refund
Hi, I have purchased the FHM beta. However, I have found the UI so unintuitive and cumbersome comapred to EHM that I cannot use or enjoy the product. I was hoping to get a refund. I have emailed both 'support@elicense.com' and 'support@ootpdevelopments.com' a week ago, however I have yet to receive a response from either. Cant anyone guide to me the right channel in order to receive a refund?
Thanks |

You'll need to contact eSellerate, not eLicense.
And I don't want to rub salt into any wounds, but pelchat22's link is very important. Any potential customers who may be reading this right now, must understand that this is what you're getting with beta software. But yeah, you'll need to go to eSellerate for a refund. Yesterday I went to the market and bought me some tomato seeds. Guess my outrage when I opened the bag and they weren't actual tomatoes, but some stupid small things that needed time to grow!! I quickly ran back to the store to get my money back : there's no way to use or enjoy that product right now.

Pico this beta has improved tremendously in just one week. The team is doing a top notch job and the customer service is second to none. We know going in we are playing a beta, if you enjoy hockey and sim games I suggest you keep the game and don't open it again until the full launch in September when the game is complete. At least that way you will have saved $10 off the retail price. You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but it seems your expectations are too high for a project in its infancy.

I suggest nobody waste any time on this guy and we just hold the door open for him as he leaves. If this is his reaction now, imaging just how high maintenance he could be later.

Hi Pico - I'm not trying to bash here - please understand that - but I'm really puzzled - please tell me you were/are aware that the product in its current form is a BETA - which by the very definition means - it's not a polished, vetted-out, ready-for-retail product ... yet. And I emphasize the word YET. The developers here have come upon a great and tremendously innovative idea to allow us, the gaming community, the opportunity to jump on board as beta testers - yes, we're essentially buying the game upfront -- but at a very nice discount to retail - and have the opportunity to tear it apart, try to break it, put it through all its paces and give it rigorous and robust testing that a select cadre of hired testers could only dream of doing and provide hopefully helpful and constructive feedback - and at the end of the process, all have participated in developing what no doubt will be a top-notch program - AND - having already paid to purchase - again, AT DISCOUNT - will receive the finished product at no additional cost to us. A product that we had a hand in polishing up and getting to market. My friend - it's a win-win for the gamers, the developers, the game itself - and the gaming community. Surely you were aware of that going in, yes? And unquestionably, the developers pulled no punches upfront about the process - about the state of the game, particularly now in the early going - etc. Nothing was hidden in any way. Anyone who purchased/purchases should already be aware of these things and understand it's an investment in the game. And a good one at that! ![]() Again - please know I'm not trying to bash here nor am I trying to be offensive toward you - and you're most definitely entitled to want - and to request - a refund - but like the other gamers here who are onboard with this process, I'll have to say I honestly don't understand where you're coming from. Everyone knew going in that this would not be a finished product - and that we have the opportunity to help produce that finished product - pretty awesome, all in all! I myself am eager to jump into the fray and plan to do so as soon as a Mac-native version is available. As a side bar - kudos to Sebastian for his response - given the circumstances, I think it's above and beyond the call of duty - and yet another example of a great commitment to EXCELLENT business practices and good ethical standards of dealing with customers. Kudos, guys. Last edited by Probert24; 03-12-2013 at 12:53 PM. |

You pre-ordered FHM. The beta is value-added while you wait for its release. |

I'd understand your anger if this was October and this was the final release of the game. However this is a visibly unfinished prototype in the middle of its development cycle. At this point in time, we're not paying for the final product (which I'm honestly excited to see): We're more or less investing in something we see serious potential in.
Yeah I have my complaints about the UI as well, but they have plenty of time to hammer it out until its "official" release. At this point in time, we're nothing more than little Warren Buffett's hoping that the 10-year-old prodigy ends up developing into the greatest player of all-time. |

And I think, ultimately, this one WILL ending up being the best of all time - certainly has the potential.
i think the key for all of us now is to understand - this is an investment - both our purchase dollars and our time spent to test, test and test some more the game and provide good, helpful, CONSTRUCTIVE feedback and suggestions. I think the more we all understand that aspect of things - that right now, we cannot and should not 'complain' about this feature or that function - but rather simply REPORT what is working, what isn't working and offer helpful suggestions (and not complaints of the sort of "wahhh why isn't THIS working??" ... ) Like you said - complaining come October when the store-shelf-ready version is out to market would be one thing ... but right now, for all of us plunking down $$ and spending time playing it - we're investing in the product. Again - unquestionably - a win-win for everyone - and a brilliant move on the part of the developers!

OK, he got the information he needed, so I'm going to close the thread now. It was bound to happen that the warnings wouldn't sink in for some tiny fraction of the purchasers, we'll deal with it.
