93 Finest and 94 SP Templates?

I haven't seen these anywhere so I am assuming they have not been made.
I might give it a shot, my only problem is no reference photos for 93 finest or 94 SP Base set (I do have some holoview cards I will try to make). These cards will not be exactly format friendly but I think they can be done.

I usually just do a google image search or go to comc.com (watermarked) if I need to find a picture for reference. You probably already know this but you won't be able to do the vertical text on the 94 SP card.

Thanks, I tried the google search and it didn't turn up the greatest results, but what worked GREAT for me was EBAY search. especially ones that you can enlarge the image, the ones that were scanned turn out perfect.

At first I forgot about the vertical text (which hopefully will be allowed soon) but if the card is even accurate 70% I am going to be happy.

I am pretty pleased with my template so far for the 93 finest, all star version, and am excited to start working on the SP Set including Holoviews.

Here is the base template

Nice work! Though, in my opinion, that card is an ugly card.

I never said it was pretty

To me it was more of "classic" as those came out in the height of my personal card collecting when I was around 14, and at the time those were THE CARDS to get, of course until 1994 SP came out. Those are really only the two sets from my childhood that really stood out as changing the industry (before game used and autographs really took over).

Working on the Refractor version in the morning.
The card is looking good.

[%SEASON_SLG], [%CAREER_SLG] for slugging percentage.

A couple of things to check when making the card:
- Fernando Valenzuela rule, check that long player and team names fit okay, you can set the align to shrink to help.
- Larger career stats, someone like Pujols or Pettitte (I like using George Brett, max number of characters for most stats)

thanks for the tip on the stats and names, I think the names are covered on this one, the stats I could see being a problem as my example already has the totals pretty close.

I used the baseball card template pdf I found on this forum and thought those were the only stats that it would use. I tried playing around with a few for "Gold Glove winner" cards, like adding defensive stats but nothing seemed to work (errors, assists...)

BMW's card creating guide should have a list all of the stat tokens available, are you using v1.1 of the guide, link is below for it. The errors stat is listed but it doesn't work. Besides add_background and has_team I don't think anything else was added between the guide and OOTP13.

http://www.cbabaseball.com/public/Cr...011%20v1.1.pdf

The refractor part is looking good.

This is the explanation I got when I asked Bigrod about it:

"Near as I can figure the has team=0 just prevents the game from using that xml element line. Has nothing to do with any player. IN the default xml it prevents the game from using the default card image that's all I could figure. As when I tried it for free agents it still used the card that has it set to 1.
So you could have 1 xml for let's say, 5 different cards. Set the one you want to use to has team=1 and the other 4 to has team=0. Then if you decided you wanted to use one of the other images instead, just change it to 1 and the other to 0 and it will use the new image.
Easier than having 5 different xmls and renaming them."

Have to agree with you on that. It looks like something a contestant on Rupals drag race would come up with.

I think I started over on this template 5 times with different ideas, and at first didn't think the holoview part with a player image would be possible, but after spending hours and hours on this and learning a lot more about photoshop and making templates in the process, I am extremely happy with the results.

Here is goes, finished 90% of it. Just a few more tweaks but this is probably 95% complete.

Don't pay attention to the stats if you can read them, I quick sim'd a few months so there would be stats on the card...
In game and on my screen the text and card are more crisp than the picture shown here.

I wish there were full sleeves on pictures so it doesn't look like his arms were cut off (I know I could crop it more but I wanted to see the logo a little on the jersey). Lined it up with the diecut sides though and threw in a team logo on the left.

I really appreciated the help on these forums, I have/had so many ideas and although there are limitations there are also so many cool things you can do with these. I hope in the future OOTP games they are incorporated into the game more! like quick team sets or league sets, easier viewing in game, even option to have the player card show on player profile screen.

Did a lot more editing and am very happy with the results, I have several backgrounds that can be used behind the player and will hopefully upload the psd and png files soon (a little more tweaking first). The PSD file will have the ability to switch between diecut and regular (which I did end up doing) and pretty easily change the base color of the card, front is really easy but still working on the back. Also added a hologram team logo.

Making the background look like the original "foil" was easier than I thought, the "fresco" filter worked perfectly, especially when applying a lighting effect afterwards.
All of the logos will be an easy click on and off when working in photoshop (elements or pro).

At first I wanted the player centered on the card, but think I like it this way better, even though their jerseys won't be displayed.

Holoview Blue, plus used sliders to try a different color, front of card worked perfectly, back of card not so much
