FA Decision on $$

Currently in the free agent period in our league. Had an offer of $5.25M for 3 years for a MR. Upped it to $6M for 3 after I wasn't the favored bidder. He ended up taking a $4M for 2 deal. $18M over $8M? Are you kidding me?

btw, there was no "want to play for a winner" at play here thought the two teams had 77 wins ($18M) and 100 wins ($8M).

We have seen this at least once per off-season in the TLB. I can understand a player favoring some over others, but the above case is a bit extreme.

I like that this exists. In real life, would you always go for money? There are personal reasons involved, I'm actually happy it's not a systematic money thing.

But $10M for a 33-year old? Wouldn't you, at the tail end of your career, weigh the money a little more? The low offer should seem laughable to you.

The real kick in the crotch is the guy sent me an email the day before he signed with the other team saying the other team offered more years (2 compared to my 3).

Actually it sounds like a bug in the code somewhere. It shouldn't always be more money equals success, but the email thing suggests a problem here somewhere.

Can anyone else post their experiences here if similar ?

I agree with Henry, I think money is fine, but the e-mail you received indicates a possible bug.
