I am seriously considering on dropping a dime for this game. I love hockey and was a big SOM hockey fan.

If I buy the beta version, does that mean I'm on the beta team?

It's raw, and it's normal that I haven't let myself just get sucked-in a la 'It's 2am and just finish the month' like EHM07 (though not far off the other night...), but I'm pretty sure the potential is there, particularly given the flexibility of the base game.

I'm looking forward to the gestation.

I'll be looking forward to future beta builds with more features and tweaks added. I think I've just about played out all I can play out with the current version.

Need the ability to select which leagues we want playable.

I'm surprised by how functional and stable it is for such an early beta. The actual simulation engine seems to be working pretty well, so it seems like it's on track to be a polished game before release.

Most of the bugs/issues I've found so far seem like they could be fixed easily. However, I do think the interface needs a major overhaul - it's just frustrating right now both in terms of how information is displayed and how many/what kind of clicks it takes to perform common functions. I'm also waiting on online league functionality and some way to export/convert the database to an easily editable format so I can work on an EHM -> FHM converter.

Glad to hear people are liking it. I plan on buying it as soon as the Sabres stop boring me to tears in real life.

So you are not buying the game at all then?

I have been impressed so far with this early BETA version. No crashes after one season. The interface obviously needs some work and player histories, contract negotiations/demands, etc. need work but this is a very early version of BETA.

This is pretty much what I have come to expect from OOTP developments: a fantastic and deep sports sim that serves a specific niche in society.

Finally, us hockey fanatics get a sim of our own!!

Terry Pegula will not let this stand! Wait till next year! I'm buying it because I have to show Darcy Regier how it's done.

The game is very realistic, I lost all of my first games with the Sabres so far...
