I just added another update to the bottom of the first post.

Re: the exact time the download will be available, we can't say for sure yet (and Markus asked us not to announce it in advance, lest we cause traffic problems with people sitting on the website and F5'ing at the announced time.) But don't stay up late expecting it to be there at midnight.

I'm still planning on posting some more screenshots before tomorrow, just waiting on a couple of things to get done first.

No big deal if I have to wait until tomorrow to find out, but are coaches going to be involved in the first build?

Looked around the forum but didn't see my outside of hypothetical talk on them....

Original post only states nothing for historical management, but I'm interested more in modern.

Little bit of a setback tonight, but nothing to do with the game directly: the build server has decided to stop cooperating at the worst possible time. So it'll be a bit longer before that's fixed and we can get the release candidate put together, after which we'll need to do some stability testing to make sure it's OK.

I don't anticipate any stability issues, the last build was solid enough to release and we've been careful today to avoid doing anything that's likely to introduce new problems. We do need the new build, though, because aside from bugfixes and some extra database stuff, it has some cosmetic additions and deletions that are necessary from a legal standpoint.

End result: beta won't be ready at the time we were aiming for, but it'll still be out on Monday unless you were planning on downloading it from your private island in the South Pacific.

Edit: Oh, and re: screenshots, I need the beta for those, so delayed as well. I'll take and post them while I test the build.

Coaches are included in what I said about non-playing staff in the database section of the original post; the names are there (at least in most cases), but they don't have real ratings yet. It'll be a while before we do, but the plan is for them to have significant effects on both player development and strategy.

It'll be a while, though, before we can get them to take a bench minor in the third period of a tied game, leading to a loss against a divisional opponent. But hey, no professional coach would ever do something like that.

Guess since i live on an island in the South Pacific (Aus) i will have to wait till tomorrow

Take your time gents, we've waited this long, we'll continue to wait. I'm just thrilled there's going to be another hockey sim after so many years without one

Yeah Jeff R....We need that AV idiocy put in there right away. Ref wass miles away and you could hear AV yelling (not decipher what saying) on TV. Love it.

Will there be a "report a bug" button or something in the game or how does the reporting work, just dropping a mail with the failure description or something in the forum?

Forum will get a Beta sub section for bug reports and such iirc.

Jeff wrote a couple of hours ago that they found a major bug which they were about to fix before the release, so it could still take some time.
