I am just done. Giving my money to EA for SimCity 5 this year instead.
If you don't mind me asking, what are some of the things you want them to add? The real time sim feature added last (and according to ad, improved on this year) is way more of a sim feature. I'm not picking at you, just curious.

I can only speak for myself here. I realize that the features are useful to others.

The real time sim feature did nothing for me. I don't play where I control a team. I play in a god like commissioner mode where I sim everything a month at a time and then read the news reports and check stats.

- I would like to see an improved HOF, starting small with allowing us to put in managers and coaches. Also when you have leagues in a association if a player who gets into the HOF for a league in India that is ranked AAA he doesn't get into all HOF's in the association.

- I like the league evolution feature but it is not realistic, it only expands and expands and expands. I would like to see a way to constrict leagues that have over grown added into the league evolution and if not there then at least a manual way to do it that walks you through it as it is a pain to do it now.

- I would like to see retirement reworked so that you get players trying to play in their 50's or guys who just retire out of the blue in their 30's and not just because they are scrubs.

- I would like player history to be more flushed out so that there is a date added when a player gets his first ML start or hit or homerun and the same stuff for pitchers

- If I create a league that only allows Americans or Brits I want that to include only American or British managers and coaches without having to edit crazy name files and etc.

- I would like the game to rarely move a player over to pitching or fielding like happened to Babe Ruth or that guy that played for the Angels.

- I think the team history should show who the managers were for what years and also the hitting and pitching coaches.

- If I change the structure of my league going from 1 league to 2 league or 2 league to 1 league I don't want to lose my championship history for the years before the change was made.

These are just a few things I have asked for. Maybe they are in this new version or last years and my complaints are null but from what I have read they haven't been addressed.

I also realize these are not game breakers, they are not bugs. They are just nice things to have in the game but we have asked for them for years and they are never added but new stuff does get added.

I also realize that I am not a coder or a developer and do not know what it takes to add these things, so I will not say that they "should be an easy add" because they may be those most difficult game breaking things ever seen by OOTP

Thanks for answering me....Those are some great suggestions and I really hope Markus takes a look at them.

NP,

I do try to be realistic but I do get frustrated and sorry for starting every thing with "I"

I have a versions of the game that is now almost 3 years old and from what I have seen added to the game there is just no reason for me to buy the newer versions. Maybe next year that will change.

For what it's worth I think that your list of nice to haves is good, and I hope that many of them get implemented.

I typically don't get excited about any of the new features either, but I always buy year to year. Some of it doesn't apply to how I play, some of it does, and some of it takes a couple of years for new features to work themselves out. But I do think that for the most part you get a better experience from year to year. Sometimes the small things make a big difference even when you don't think they will.

I can't recall what was added when, but if you are using a 3 year old version you may be surprised by some of the improvements. And hopefully some of those items made it into 14.

I think league constriction definitely needs to be included in league evolution, though rare.

I wonder how hard it would be to toss all the players in the constricted organizations into a big draft to be held between the remaining teams.

Really? That looks god awful. Save yourself the money and pick up SC4 with the expansions instead.

I like this idea as well. Player numbers are a big part of a franchises history.

Contraction is certainly needed to balance the ever expanding universe under league Evolution. We need Devolution. Without Devo, we have no Freedom of Choice.............

Darned mouse. I meant to click the thread above this one.

Wait until we are all mandated by planned obsolescence and new product cycles to be using Windows 8 on our (small screen) tablets! Pawing at our screens, trying to select the right thread . . . this type of thread selection error is going to become pandemic! Perhaps growing at least one fingernail really, really long like Fu Man Chu will help?

Oh well, now that I have it open, I may as well BUMP IT AGAIN.

How does this thread always seem to be at the top of the board?

I had never thought about a team HOF or retiring a number but like the idea and would love to see it in the game.

Also how about somehow making facegen stop aging the players picture when he retires! So when we go back and click on someone in the hall of fame it doesn't show an 80 year old guy but his facegen when he retired.

I also agree on the minor features being added, they don't do anything for me and it gives me little reason to upgrade and I usually don't. I had OOTP 8, then OOTP 11, skipped 12, was going to skip13 but bought it last week for $15 on amazon, very little changed since OOTP11 but enough to be worth $15 to me. I won't be buying 14 with the announced changes, maybe not 15 unless there are "cool" features added and not just tweaks to the system.

I know the tweaks are to insure its the best sim out there but how about some new features for those of us that like to sim large ammounts of time and not game by game. We like features that look at the history of the league, how about some improvements to the awards, little stuff like adding images (like the world series trophy, but for each award), updating the baseball cards to have more in game features, team sets, yearly sets... Ability to save pictures of each world series team as is (facegen) without them aging. just updating a few things like that every year would get my money.

That last part used to be in the game. I remember an option to Freeze Picture from a couple of versions ago and I wonder why it disappeared.
