There are downsides to a system like that (will countries ever get better within world ranking?), but overall it works. I'm fine with it.

Long time EHM / FM player here, Looking forward to FHM (Word is getting around...)

While I'd love to participate as a bug / feature tester during the beta phase, I'm a little hesitant to shell out 30/40$ for a game without knowing what customization the user will have for the game itself.

Question: What kind of editing ability will we have in game, or prior to the start of a new game?
Add New Players?
Modify Existing Teams?
Add New Teams (Expansion)?
Add New Arenas with Future move-ins (ie: Islanders to Barclays Center)

What type of things can we expect when the game is released from a customization standpoint, and, what kind of things might be in the plans down the road that we might expect backward compatibility on with a future patch or editor download?

All those things will be possible not before game start (there's no pre-game editor as far as I know), but when a game was created via commissioner mode.

I was wondering something. If you preorder in say a couple of months will you still join the beta or will you have to wait until the full release??

As far as I remember it has been said that you'll be able to join beta until some date relatively close to the final release.

Will there be any new news coming out before the beta is released in March?

Unless they release news soon about the features-everyone will be like lost puppies playing the game when it comes out. What does it take-5 minutes to make an update?

There will be a new update before the beta to announce what will be in the beta. We all know that.

And it does not take 5 minutes. It's not as simple as that. They have to think about what will and will not be in the beta. They have to manage their marketing well. They can't announce too much (with nothing exciting for future), too little, or saying too much.. They need to know what it is in and isn't in the beta. How they'll announce it? Which screens? Lots of questions they have to ask themselves.

I mean once they figure out what's coming out on the Beta version it shouldn't take 5 mniutes to release the news.

That's right. And all of that while researching, checking other researchers, asking their questions, preparing guidelines for them, developing the game, etc. Please be patient. I'm sure all of us will know answers to our questions when the time comes.

It's a beta version. Be happy to be getting that and not have to wait until September. Let them work on it and release what they can come March.

What they don't need are endless questions about people's pet features. It won't have everything, what it will be is a limited but playable game.

Guys--Orioles does not read others posts. He just posts his questions and his historical fantasy league questions. If he did read our posts there would be a giant thread called Official Orioles Fictional League announcement threads.

And patience patience patience. Like any game we will all learn how to play it at our own discretion once it comes out. I don't need to know how to play the game before it does. That would be like reading the instructions that come with Ikea shelves and furniture. What is the point?

I really don't care to see a full list of features and that certainly won't make anyone lost without it. They've announced the major ones and will continue to when the time is right. It's always a great discovery to find surprise features while playing opposed to knowing all prior.

And i hate to say it but i am just skipping over Orioles posts at this point...

I think I'm with Dave on this one... I'm not too worried about a feature list at this point, considering we'll have the game and be seeing it first-hand in only two weeks.

In fact, if I can get all technical and philosophical for a minute, it's probably better if they don't tell us what to expect from the beta. That way, everyone will be forced to explore and test every little bit of the game. And that's going to be the key for the beta - testing.

I agree, especially since I'm not one to read instructions and just explore. I just hope the forum isn't bombarded with where's this and why don't we have that and that the input is constructive from those of us who purchase the Beta. What I mean by that is you have to consider the masses as that is what the devs have to do and not jam things up by asking to add things like the Chicago Stadium analog clock. There are several different ways we can all enjoy this game and it can't be tailored to each of us. Need to keep the big picture in mind.

I agree. It would be helpful to have the forum expanded a bit. Maybe an area for the "what I'd like to see" suggestions and an area for "this seems to be broken, or needs enhancement" section.

No problem having all the wants in one place. Those are helpful when the developers are looking for ideas or wondering which features to work on next.

It will not be helpful to have those mixed in with posts trying to be helpful in fixing what's already in place.

I suspect that the forum will be split up once the game comes out similar to the ootp13 boards.

Forum will be bombarded with all sorts of things.

1. Complaints that it does not work perfectly.
2. Complaints about anything else.
3. thoughts for fantasy fictional leagues in 20000000000000 threads.
4. Repeat complaints in 200000000000 threads.

Just the way of the world. Annoying way.

My answer to about 2 million questions will be to post my sig line.

Or maybe just maybe, the sun will shine and everyone who posts will be a genius.

After all ...it surely cannot be true that for every person with above average intelligence, there is someone with below average intelligence, can it?
