I think one thing is for sure, none of us here can wait for it to be released, and it is going to be worth the wait

The years that have passed since EHM, so a few months aint going to hurt?

I know it's not ideal, I can't wait for the game myself. But we have to realize that patience is a must here.
Small company or not, they're not new to this. Communication and coordination should be relatively solid.

I do have patience, but that doesn't mean I can't express my frustration and disappointment over the lack of communication. I don't mind you getting annoyed with me for doing it! =) Even the first post in this thread could take a 10-second edit to change from "late December/early January" as this is a stickied post.

That said - the further back the date slips, the more other things come into play that sadly might eclipse my ability or interest in playing the game - or moving onto some other project/interest.

Of course you can be frustrated and you can also be losing interest in the game. And of course you can let the developers know. I am not annoyed. I just wanted to explain my approach and try to calm the situation down a bit. If it's not working for you, be my guest. Everyone can have different opinion and the game is differently important for different people. I don't mind waiting, you may mind. That's all right.

Yes, they could edit the first post. But that would keep them from their work and more people would get annoyed by not getting the game. If devs should explain the delay and everything at all places it would be very exhaustive.
Maybe Brad (PR guy) could do that and be more present on the forums, that's right. But again... a lot of potential users follow the forums and can answer anybody's question. Like I do. I think nobody's hurt but I may see it wrong.

And it is... what you want? A post everyday to tell you the game will be release when it will be ready

It's your choice... Personally I don't care when a game is release as I play everyday of the year, I'm not only interested in a sport during its season.

I'm not part of the "red square wearer I want it now" generation, so what do I know... Anyway I'm ready to bet that those "I want it now" people would be the first to whine if the game is release now with some fatal bug.

We wait since 2007 we are able to wait more, even 6 other months.

Sorry it's a quebec thing

We had to deal with a lot of those "I want what I want" in our province last year. A bunch of "mama little treasure" rioting in the streets because they wanted us to pay to send them at the university free of charge.

It's kind of political so I can't say more, but I bet you can learn more about this with a google search using the term "quebec student strike" or "quebec student boycott" or "red square student".

If you are going to explain something to people that may not know anything about the topic, I suggest you keep the hyperbole and personal bias to a minimum...

First I didn't use hyperbole and second I've explain nothing as I've said to do a google search...

Call it like you want but a riot is a riot whatever it is made by some "hockey fans", Black Bloc members, muslims, frustrated metalhead or mamas little treasures supported by opportunistic politicians and syndicalists.

What I gathered from his post had more to do with communication rather than your "I want it now comment"
I myself am far from an I want it now person, but to call this communication solid..well everyone has their opinion...or bias.

While Im perfectly content to wait till the makers feel the sim is ready, I also cant see what the big deal is to drop in and say, "hey a few things to touch up looks to be an estimated month delay" or something along those lines. And to say that will keep the devlopers from working on the sim....well thats quite the cop out....one 30 second post...yup that will hold them up alright...

Am wishing them all the success though in their new baby !!

I'm from Quebec. It still doesn't have anything at all to do with the topic and pretty much just shows that you haven't understood anything to that conflict.

Guys please, I don't know what's going on in Quebec but I'm sure more users would appreciate if you were talking about it elsewhere. It has nothing to do with the topic here. And please, take no offense.

I try to pop by the forum when I can. As I mentioned in another thread, my door is always open, in a virtual sense, if anyone wants to PM me. I'm happy to take conversations to email or even a phone call, if you want.

I'm trying to do the best I can on Facebook and Twitter, answering people's questions while not bothering the devs too much. While I know more than what's been publicly released at this point, I can't give that info out right now, and even if I could, I wouldn't, because it could change. The situation continues to evolve.

I know, that's not helpful when people are excited to play a game and find their enthusiasm waning as they wait. We get that. We have an internal mailing list where we talk about things, and we're well aware that there's a lot of excitement out there (1,600+ fans on Facebook and almost 1,000 followers on Twitter, all without really pushing hard on the PR and marketing). I've let the guys know that we're constantly being peppered on FB and Twitter with "When is the game coming out?" questions, along with lots of queries about features, which leagues will be in the game, etc. (I keep referring people to our newsletter last month, when we published a preliminary feature list.)

We will post more concrete news when we have it, but there's not much sense in me or the devs coming around every day to say "Nothing new to report, sorry."

All I can say is, hang in there.

Thanks.

Cool

Mates ...

I totally agreed with several mates here - regarding to just stick with all about the Future of FHM Game ... whatever going on outside of this Game has NO bearing to the development of this fantastic Game that we are about to receive, soon ... I'm here to follow the DEVELOPMENT and the PROGRESS of the FHM, nothing else ... I do have many interests and I know where to follow and find those in other web sites ... but here, I'm only interested in FHM and nothing else ... Again, I do appreciate the tidbits but let just keep it to the minimal and concentrate why we are really here ... be an avid follower of FHM ... thanks for allowing me to be here ... Tomas

Thanks, Brad for the heads-up !!

Better to wait for game little longer than have half-finished product.

I don't think you understand the standpoint of the people that want updates. I'm of the mindset that I've waited years since EHM, so another few months won't kill me. I (and just about everyone else) would rather see the game released in a finished state than rushed and released half-done. I have plenty of patience for the to be finished, and I have since the project was announced over a year ago. At the same time, I like the occasional update on progress. I'm not talking about daily updates about how many lines of code were finished or replies to every single minute question on the board or so forth. I'm talking about updates that say that let us know that they're still working on the game, fixing bugs found in betas, little bits about features to be included, and so forth. It doesn't take more than five minutes to come here once or twice a week to say (as an hypothetical example),

-We added a button for transactions.
-We adjusted the display of the in-game clock.
-We found a bug with players experiencing a rapid decline in 2015, and that will take time to figure out.
That's what I think most of us asking for updates would like; it's not "ZOMG GIVE ME GAME NOW DON'T CARE IF FINISHED!!1!11!!1".

I think many people here have seen that I'm not complaining about the lack of it being released, or the lack of a specific release date - but really focusing in on the lack of communication and updates.

I've heard a lot of excuses for the lack of updates (taking 10 seconds off when they could be coding, they're a small company, etc).. I would argue that both of those are relatively easily defeated ::

1) Smaller companies generally have less people to have to communicate with in order to find the status of things. It's not like you get an update from 30 of the developers and need to wait for information from the last 5 before you can make public comments..

2) Plenty of other indie companies do a very good job with updates - even saying "rats, we're running behind, sorry all - we don't have an updated date at this time so let me just erase any of the dates we have up here and put "TBD" for now". These silly little updates result in a lot of people going "hey, can we get an update" or having to respond to dozens of posts and hundreds of tweets. So the 10 seconds is better spent in advance..

Still interesting seeing the discussion continue! =)

We've all talked the talk and they isn't really much more too talk about until there is a game out there.

See, now that's YOUR happy zone. But what about the guy who wants weekly, or daily or hourly updates? There's always going to be a vocal group unhappy with whatever level of info there is.

So I'm all for letting them work and we'll here when they're ready. I'm ok there.
