How to slow down auto play
Hi. I just noticed a last logged on to this forum in 2006. It has been a while. I played an old version of OOTP a long time -- I loved 6.5 -- and then picked up another baseball simulation and played it a while and also play other games, but I decided recently to get back to OOTP.
I play small fictional leagues over a long period of time, like 100 game years. I only play a game if it is game seven of the league championship. I set my lineups and depth charts and rotations and play a week to a month at a time, stopping only for major injuries. I then check stats and such and make lineup and roster changes if needed and carry on. With 6.5 and with the other simulation, I could watch the games tick off on the standings screen while auto playing. Even if it just took a second to a few seconds to play a day, I could see the standings change and watch my progress. That is something I enjoy in the game, and I can see my team's progress. With OOTP13, playing a 12-team fictional league, the auto play is so fast that I can't do that. The auto screen pops up but it is just a blur. I hit autoplay till next month, and then it is done. I don't want to play a bigger league. I think I have setting such that it is slowing the game down as much as I can, like extremely detailed stats and the such. But is there some other way to artificially slow down auto play so I can see the progress of the standings. I'm looking for a month of auto play to take 30 seconds to a minute. Thanks. |

Just click on the check mark icon to move the game ahead one day at a time. Rinse and repeat.

I wasn't playing with full minors. I added full minors and that slowed things down a little. I can now see individual games ticking off. Just have to figure out a way to slow it down a little more. |

Just a shot in the dark.
Are you saving replays and/or game logs? You can select none, majors and minors, I think. This may slow things down a little more. I understand the request. It is an odd one. I am trying to think of any more options that will eat RAM. lol Maybe open another game or two? lol

The other option I found was to save daily, but I didn't like that. Basically I like to run long fictional leagues. I don't manage on a daily basis. I manage on a weekly or monthly basis, adjusting lineups, rotations, and rosters, and stop for injuries, too. But I like to watch the flow of the season as it progresses day by day, even if each day takes a second. I take a more hands-on approach at the end of the season if the divisional race is close and during the playoffs, auto playing from day to day and making adjustments daily. Thanks. |
