I had storylines turned on, but rarely came across anything? Hopeful a fair amount of time is spent on making it a bigger part of the game.
The monthly emails involving prospects development is a nice add! |

I'm dreading to see what the 2013 Miami Marlins look like. A lot of suck, I'm sure.
I'm loving the new player origin system, improved scouting and trading. Hope the finances get some attention.--Will pre-order.

I'm going to be pre-ordering after next payday. I love the sound of the new player origin model, as well as the fielding development changes. The latter didn't bug me so much until I read a bunch of threads on here that convinced me the existing model was decidedly lacking.
Hopefully this does lead to players truly outgrowing 2B/SS/CF and staying at the corners where they belong. ![]() Oh, and using PECOTA for the player ratings? That's about six kinds of awesome (to me anyway). |

I made a thread on the 13 boards that didn't catch any momentum, BUT when a player starts to play a new position, he should quickly get to the point where he is passable. (assuming it isn't a catcher moving to centerfield, but rather a left fielder to right field, etc...) But still take a whole season to max out his rating there. If I decided to play Mike Trout in left field, he shouldn't be a 1 for the first month.
I also wish position ratings would degenerate, and then be built back up with playing time there. If a player has been at second exclusively for 5 years, he shouldn't still have the same rating at shortstop over those five years. Then, after, say 20 games (depending on intelligence/work ethic/whatever, it could be more or less) he is back to this optimal rating at that position. EDIT - Or what Kingcharles said earlier.

Will the play numbers be consistent across all situations?
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ion-redux.html I know probably not.

Could we have the return of listing a player's first hit and homerun, the date and the opposing pitcher? Same with who their 300th homer, etc.. was hit off of?

You realize that this would be highly annoying for those of us who have collected all the jersey mod made for the ML from 1871 to 2012. Not everybody is able to make the correction by themselves when the format change (the ballcap change last year was enough of an annoyance).

If you're not excited for the revamped player development, you're not a true OOTP fan.

Hopefully we still have your attention: I think what most of us are looking for with regard to independent leagues is some sort of designation as such. Also, some sort of financial structure specific to small time independent leagues like the CAN-AM, Atlantic, American Association etc. Those players usually sign one year contracts for monthly salaries. Oftentimes Major League clubs will purchase their contracts for cash if there is a player a big league club wants: Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia There are also specific roster rules with indy leagues, for example: CanAmLeague.com - Official Website of the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball We'd really love to see some of these features included into the game somehow. Thanks |

I am hoping that players and coaches have favored personnel on their biographies, it is a small touch that fm has and it might help with team chemistry.

I may have missed it, but with scouting getting some attention in the upcoming version, I would love to see something like a report card for scouts. How did their "overseas" prospects turn out, how about their draft recommendations, etc... Would be nice to have some history there as well.

Forgive me, but I always thought that the French Canadians in Quebec originally came from France and were of French descent, and therefore had French names. You are saying that there should be a different set of name files for French Canadians, completely distinct from the French ones?

A great parallel for this would be between say, Australia, USA, and England. Or even within the UK itself. They all speak english, but the names will differ. Quebec has effectively been cut-off from France for the last 254 years. Last edited by shawa666; 01-24-2013 at 10:55 PM. Reason: Typo |

But I'll bet you that if the French-Canadian OOTP contingent put together a set of appropriate name files that you could get Markus to include it in 14.

I am going to stop requesting for features for OOTP. This is the first year that I have been too busy to make suggestions and now that the game has been revealed it was exactly what I would of asked for.
Revamped player generation and development was my #1 wish for the game. From here on out I will just stop asking for features so that they get included! |

![]() Scottish/Irish/English names should rule for the vast majority of historical players from Canada.
