Database Crashes

Putting this here because the earlier version forum is a ghost town.

I just reinstalled OOTP version 6.5. My game crashes with the latest Lahman database, which version should I be using?

I have now tried several different databases, they all cause a crash. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

OOTP 13 is twenty bucks and is worth twice that. Upgrade.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

The Lahman format changed a few years ago which makes it incompatible with OOTP 6.5

No thank you. I have tried several versions, including OOTP 12. 6.5 remains the pinnacle of OOTP.

But thanks for the helpful advice.

So, where can I find a compatible database?

I understand that you are happy with 6.5. That's totally cool. For me 6.5 is a dog compared to 13.

I wish you the best luck in finding what you are looking for.

If it WAS on the internet, it's STILL on the internet somewhere. Someone has to have a 6.5 compatible database somewhere.

Go here - there are previous versions available. Im not sure what the last version was to work with 6.5, but I'd start with 2006 and go up/down from there. make sure you are using the comma-delimited version.

And I agree with the others. Give ootp13 a chance. It will take some time to get used to - especially coming from ootp6.5, but it's well worth it.
