Post 1980 Problem

Perhaps someone can help me here. I've been running a historical simulation from 1901 to the present. This is the second time that I've tried to sim 1980 and my file just goes dead in April, early April at that. This is the first problem I've had in 80 seasons, but I seem to be stuck here. I lost a file previously that I simmed from 1969 to 1980 when the same type of error occurred. I should also note that I started again from 1969 this time to get to 1980, but have saved a copy of my file after that one on my way to 1980.

I have Windows XP, a 1.6 Ghz Pentium IV, 384 Megs of RAM, an 80 Gigabyte HD and no idea why this happens. I should also note that occasionally I end up with the C++ Error while running file reports, but that is never a real problem. Thank you in advance for any advice you may have.

Check your team rosters for injured players still on the 25 man roster. I remember starting around 1980 in my league that the cpu manager for some reason tried to play players that were still injured.

It has been awhile since I was pre-1980 in my league but I never remembered injuries carrying over from one season to the next much before then. However, since 1980 there are several teams each season that had injured players on opening day. If I move them to the DL and the click on automanage it solves the problem.

I think that could be the solution to your league problems.

Tiger Fan, thank you anyway, but all my injured players are properly on the DL. I've tried it with a few different versions of this file, but it crashes in the first week of 1980 with a great deal of consistancy. One time, I think my error came up as a ntdll.dll error, but that's the only new thing I can think of.

Try recalculating the league era totals, I had a problem going to 1920 in my league, so maybe there was a problem going from era to era.
