So here's the key question...can I convert a league from OOTP11 to OOTP13? This league has not been touched since this dynasty stopped, as I just got crushed for time and every time I thought I had a minute, it vanished. But I miss doing this and hope I can do so again.
I hope all is well with everyone! |

![]() 2021 Season - May Recap A Club of One Brouthers hits 400th homer At this point, the superlatives toward Los Angeles Idols first baseman Dan Brouthers have all been exhausted. He is, given the recent decline of teammate Oscar Charleston, the greatest player in PBL history. He is the all-time leader in homers, RBIs, hits, total bases, slugging and VORP. So that he was first to a landmark figure should shock no one. Brouthers walloped career home run number 400 on May 3rd, becoming the first player to reach the mark. Arizona's Sam Thompson is next in line, back at 372, nearly 40 behind Brouthers' current total of 411. "There's nothing left to say," teammate Dave Winfield says. "The guy is a machine. He's the best in the business." The 35-year-old Brouthers is batting .333 with 16 homers and 55 RBI. Those marks are 9th, 2nd and 1st, respectively, in the PBL. "I've got plenty left in the tank," Brouthers says. "I don't think about the numbers at this point. I'll appreciate them later. Right now, I just think about the rings." He's already got four, all since he came to Los Angeles. "The thumb is lonely," he says with a smile. [FONT=Book Antiqua][COLOR=black][SIZE=4][SIZE=6][B] Spalding No-Hits Sandmen ![]() Al Spalding PHOENIX -- At the age of 37, Wichita Brigade hurler Al Spalding became only the 7th player in Pastime Baseball League history to throw a no-hitter. On May 5, after pair of starts in which he allowed 12 hits apiece, Spalding was dynamite against Arizona. Inducing grounder after grounder, Spalding only struck out 4 but earned 19 ground ball outs in the historic effort. "It was like hitting an anvil," Arizona star Sam Thompson said. "Everything was low, we knew it and it didn't matter. We just buried it into the ground." Spalding walked a pair, in the third and fourth, respectively. From there, it was smooth sailing, backed by an 8-run Wichita attack. "It's an amazing feeling," Spalding said afterward. "To be at this for so long and get this now, it shows I still have something left." The start kicked off a 5-0 month for Spalding, though he allowed double-digit hits in his two starts following the no-no as well. He's benefitted from tremendous run support - shocking given Wichita ranks only 8th out of 10 Northern League teams in runs scored. But in his six May starts, Spalding was backed by 8, 8, 7, 4 (ND), 9 and 10 runs. That's more than 20 percent of Wichita's run output for the entire season. Support for Speaker in St. Louis It's been said for the past couple of years that St. Louis' Tris Speaker needed some offensive backup. Speaker's phenomenal push to carry the Tides to the division crown last season - before falling to three-time PBL champion Los Angeles in 7 games in the league championship - was phenomenal. But he shouldn't have to hit .368! He may not have to this year. Speaker is getting backup and then some from the duo of George Grantham (.374-11-33) and Turkey Stearnes (.333-9-32). "Those guys have been amazing," a glowing Speaker - himself batting .327 - said of the tandem. "With Joe [Sewell, hitting .344 but on the DL with a knee injury] going down, these guys have been huge for us, and for me personally." If Grantham (25) is really accelerating his development, and Stearnes (29) is ready to make that next leap as he enters his prime years, St. Louis may be ready for a third straight postseason matchup with the dynastic L.A. Idols. Crashing in Indianapolis [LEFT] If anybody can explain what happened to last season's 96-win Indianapolis Engines, tell skipper Bill McKechnie. Because he admittedly has no idea. "I have no explanation," he says. "I just know it better get fixed in a hurry." The Engines are 17-34, the worst record in the PBL. They have the worst starters ERA in the Northern League (4.85) and have scored the second-fewest runs (213). Willie Mays was the lone bright spot in the early going, batting .315 with 11 homers because going down with an abdominal strain. But Larry Doby is hitting .161, Stan Musial .246, and Hughie Jennings .232. That's just not going to get it done. Add the struggles of onetime ace Ed Walsh (1-7, 6.90) and it's clear the Engines are merely spinning their wheels, hoping for some traction to cut into what's already a 15-game deficit.

OK, so I realized that the uploading and folder conventions were a bit different between OOTP11 and 13. I've got it straightened out now, so forgive the crummy appearance of May's review and we move on to June's.
