Historic League with Lahman 4.5

I've just tried my first historic league trying to implement 1961 with the Lahman 4.5 database. It starts adding players and each time it hits the 598th or so it crashes to the desktop with a invalid page fault error. It always crashes right after Rocky Colavito. I've never tried this before and the only thing I've read is the manual. Do I have to set up the league first with the proper number of teams and league structure or does this happen automaticaly? Is there something else I'm doing wrong? Is there an FAQ somewhere on exactly how to do this? Thanks for any assistance.

I've been searching these boards for an answer to my question for a long time now, but the only things that look like they could have my answer point to the message board that is not around anymore. I'm trying to import some players using the lahman 4.5 database. For some reason some players import and some of them cause OOTP3 to crash. It doesn't give me an error message or anything, it just shuts down. I even tried just importing an entire team, the 87 yankees and it always gets the first 5 or so and then does the same thing. Any clue what's causing this? I have like 4 gb's of HD space left on my C drive, running an AMD 1.0 GH processor with 512k memory. It sounded like this guy had a similar problem, so I figured I'd post here.

Lahman Version 4.5 does not work with OOTP3. (The baseball archive changed the format)

You'll need to use Lahman Version 4.0 or earlier.

Just out of curiosity... how come some players work and some don't? I just imported the 1987 Don Mattingly and everything looks fine. If it was a format problem wouldn't none of them work?

Well I should say everything looks good except he's -1 years old... but that's easily fixable.
