Some questions on Pitchers

Can anyone tell me how many left vs right handed pitchers a team normally has? If most batters bat right I'm assuming I need more RH pitchers?

Also what pitches are most effective against which batters?

- Slider is used for left-handed reliever against left-handed batters?
- Cutter is used for right-handed reliever against lefties and righties equally well?
- Fastball ...?
- Sinker ... ?
- Curveball ... ?
- Sinker ... ?
- Splitter ... ?
- Forkball ... ?

Yeah, I'm weak on baseball...

Thanks.

I usually try to have 1 lefty SP and 2 lefty MR.

I do nto pay any attention to what specific pitches my pitchers throw. I can't help with the 2nd part.

Real baseball it depends. Majority of teams have 1 Left handed SP and 2 lefties in the pen. My White Sox had 3 LHP SP and 4 LHP MR. Not all were there at the same time except maybe September.
Myself it depends on the league and my park. Right now the league I play the North which is the subleague i am in has many left handed power hitters. I have 0 LHP SP (not by choice) and 2 LHP MR.

I am with TGH on the 2nd part. I don't pay attention overall to what they throw, because I have yet to see any correlation in having too many pitchers that throw the same pitches or power vs finesse pitchers in OOTP.
I do pay attention to ground ball % since for most of my leagues I play in HR friendly parks like Baker Bowl and Wrigley Field and I want my pitchers to keep it on the ground. I also am better defensively in my IF vs OF usually.
Tug McGraw was a leftie screwball pitcher who can get both lefties and righties out. Screwball and knuckleball are 2 pitches I threw in college (I sucked) but I am right handed and I like pitchers with those pitches on my teams.
Pitchers have success based on their ratings not what type of pitches they throw.
