Facial Hair
Any current mods that work with OOTP13 for adding facial hair?

Yep, http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...od-v2-0-a.html
It was originally for version 10(?) but works with 13. It should be downloadable from Padresfan's website.

You would have to buy the program.

I think I'm doing something wrong. I downloaded the mod and extracted all the files to the facegen folder, but it the new styles don't show up in the game at all. It says you have to set their frequency values, but the original styles are the only ones that show up. Any suggestions would be welcome. Does it only work with a new game?

Here:
It's not percentages but frequencies in relation to one another. BTW...they all start at zero. Attachment 275900

I tried posting a screenshot yesterday but it wouldn't let me. Basically I'm on that screen you showed, but it only lists about 5-6 options for types of facial hair. It shows the defaults of no beard, full beard, 5 o'clock, goatee1, etc. None of the new styles from the mod show up even though I unzipped it to the C:\Users\USERNAME\Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 13\facegen folder.

Not sure what to tell you except maybe unzip in a new location and use cu & paste and see if that works. Sorry I never have had a problem with this file since I 1st used it in OOTP 11. Try Pming Booble?

Wow, I feel silly. I never closed the program and reopened it after I installed. It works now.
Thanks everyone for the help.

BTW... if anyone is looking for this, it is now at Charlie Hough's OOTPMODS site under the FACEGEN tab and scroll all the way down to "Other Files" at the bottom.

"Here's what I'm planning on doing for my own game. The ones I think should be very rare (like maybe the rollie) or that I don't care too much for, I'll put at 1. The ones I think are fairly rare or that there are multiple combinations of (say Earp, Earp Dirty, and Yosemite for example), I'll put at maybe 2 or 3. The other ones I'll put at say 5. Then for no beard (let's see...90 * an average freq. of 3 = 270. I want about 1/3 of the league to have a beard.... 270 * 2 = 540), I'll put about 500 or so." De ja Bru mentioned a total of 100. His quote "My pleasure. And what you said clears up another point that I remembered as I was working on my own hairy guys: The points do not have to add up to 100, as I implied in my post. I think it was established a while back that total number of points is immaterial; it's the ratio of points assigned to each beard type to the total of assigned points that matters. The zeroed beards are not included in the calculation or in the game. I happen to try to use a total of 100 to make the math easier in my head." |
