Why is there no "Act as Manager only" mode?

I'm not very new to the game, but it seems like a bit of a dumb question so I put it here. Anyway, I would like to act as just the manager and have a GM who handles trades/signings be an AI. Why isn't this possible, but the other way around is?

It is, if you go into your manager options you can delegate everything to the AI except "Setting lineups/Depth/Pitching Staff" and that should do what you want.
