Ah, I checked Wikipedia, but they list it as happening in "NL", which of course is correct, but had not helped me a bit. Thanks^^

2006 Federal League Championship Series
Dallas Rattlers (100-62) vs. Louisville Colonels (104-58) GAME 2 @ Louisville: Robby Adkins (14-5) vs. Ray Alexander (18-8) The Rattlers got on the board in the second via two singles and a double-play ball. The Colonels countered with a single by Rodriguez, sacrifice bunt by Alexander, and a single by Simon to tie the game at 1-1 after three innings. Dallas restored their one-run lead in the fourth on a double by Alejandro Gomez and a single by Rodney Wright. It didn’t last long. Morgan led off the bottom of the fourth with a double off the center field wall and scored on consecutive groundouts. The score remained deadlocked at 2-2 through the regulation nine innings. Both teams were into their bullpens by this point. Alejandro Gomez doubled with one out in the eleventh. Charlie Henry drove him in with a clutch two-out single to give Dallas a 3-2 lead. Morgan and Bland led off the bottom of the eleventh with singles but did not advance any further. FINAL: Dallas 3, Louisville 2 (11) The series is tied at 1. Other games: Atlanta 2, Washington 0 (series tied at 1) |

2006 Federal League Championship Series
Dallas Rattlers (100-62) vs. Louisville Colonels (104-58) GAME 3 @ Dallas: Robert Westaway (17-5) vs. Ronald Austin (20-7) This was a marquee pitching matchup between two of the league’s best. Thus, the Dallas crowd was shocked into silence when Hartman doubled, John tripled, and Dominguez singled to give the visitors a 2-0 lead before Austin retired a batter. The first three Dallas batters also reached base, but the Rattlers only got one run out of their threat. The Colonels regained their two-run margin in the third when Hartman singled, stole second, advanced to third on a groundout, and scored on Morgan’s sacrifice fly. A triple by Elijah Graham led to a second Dallas run in the fourth. Westaway ended a Dallas threat in the fifth by striking out the cleanup hitter Gomez to keep the score at 3-2. Westaway came up to bat in the seventh and there was never a thought about pulling him for a pinch-hitter. He doubled and scored on a two-out single by Dominguez to make the score 4-2 in favor of Louisville. Westaway came up again in the top of the ninth having thrown 109 pitches, and he was lifted for the pinch-hitter this time. King came on to pitch a 1-2-3 ninth and we had regained our home-field advantage. FINAL: Louisville 4, Dallas 2 Louisville leads the series 2-1. Other games: Washington 4, Atlanta 3 (Washington leads 2-1) The Admirals scored four runs in the bottom of the ninth for a comeback win. Last edited by Orcin; 10-12-2012 at 01:11 AM. 2006 Federal League Championship Series
Dallas Rattlers (100-62) vs. Louisville Colonels (104-58) GAME 4 @ Dallas: Antonio Luna vs. Carlos De La Cruz (16-10) We were determined not to leave our #2 pitcher rested and ready on the bench and lose with someone else. If Luna pitched today, he could also go in game seven if needed. Dallas catcher Angel Gomez made the strategy look bad with a 3-run homer in the second, giving the Rattlers a big lead – especially large considering the quality of their starting pitcher. Dallas picked up an insurance run for a 4-0 lead and De La Cruz had only allowed only two hits through five innings. Hartman led off the sixth with a single, stole second, and scored on single by John. Bland tripled and scored a meaningless run in the ninth off closer Jose Caraballo. We couldn’t generate a big inning against the Dallas staff today. P.S. This game was played on Friday the 13th of October in the game. I consider myself lucky that we escaped without injury. FINAL: Dallas 4, Louisville 2 The series is tied at 2. Other games: Atlanta 6, Washington 2 (series tied at 2) |

Don't blame Friday the 13th. It was Friday the 13th for the Rattlers as well.

2006 Federal League Championship Series
Dallas Rattlers (100-62) vs. Louisville Colonels (104-58) GAME 5 @ Dallas: Ray Alexander vs. Dean Davis The Colonels loaded the bases in the first inning on three walks, and Chris Brown made them pay with a two-out, two-run single. Dallas then loaded the bases with one out in their half of the first but Alexander escaped the jam with the 2-0 lead intact. The Colonels doubled the lead with two more in the fourth. Dominguez started the rally with a crisp single to center. Morgan doubled down the left field line and Dominguez, who was running with the pitch, scored all the way from first base. Morgan then scored on another single by Brown. RBI’s by John and Morgan chased Davis in the fourth and the 6-0 lead looked pretty good with the way that Alexander was pitching. Alexander drove in an insurance run for himself in the fifth, but Alejandro Gomez parked a fastball in the right field seats to make it a less comfortable 7-3 lead after five. A two-run double by Leroy Becker in the sixth cut the lead to 7-5 and Alexander was out of the game. Louisville loaded the bases with none out in the top of the seventh. The crowd squirmed in their seats while two outs were converted into two runs, pushing the lead back to four at 9-5. A three-run blast by Simon put the game on ice, but the Colonels continued to pour it on with the wind blowing out. Brown and Simon each had four hits in the rout. FINAL: Louisville 17, Dallas 7 Louisville leads the series 3-2. Other games: Washington 2, Atlanta 1 (Washington leads 3-2) Team Personnel News: Former Indianapolis pitcher Walt Henry was hired to manage the Owensboro Wildcats in the Rookie League. As you might expect, his specialty is working with young pitchers but he also has an excellent reputation for handling players at all levels. This hire wraps up our minor league personnel changes for the year, and there will be no changes on the major league staff unless someone retires unexpectedly. |

Orcin, Was Walt Henry really put into the Personal lists or did you do that yourself. Also, if he was put in by the game, are you able to check his profile page and see his playing stats and manager stats? |

The game did it. Yes, I am able to access his former player profile via the personnel profile. He was a 33-year-old starter for Indianapolis when the league was created in 1981. He played a couple of more seasons in the bigs, and a few more hanging on in AAA. He retired for good in 1988 and was dormant in the game until he was converted by the program to a manager candidate. Thus, there is no previous experience as a manager or coach to access. |

2006 Federal League Championship Series
Dallas Rattlers (100-62) vs. Louisville Colonels (104-58) GAME 6 @ Louisville: Robby Adkins vs. Robert Westaway Dallas scored a run in the second inning on a pair of singles and a walk. The Rattlers added two more in the fourth on a home run by Elijah Graham. A double by Alejandro Gomez scored Brock Richardson all the way from first to make it 4-0 in the fifth. It was becoming pretty obvious that Westaway did not have his best stuff today. Westaway came to the plate with the bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth and was lifted for a pinch-hitter. The rally led to two runs for the Colonels as Adkins suddenly could not find the plate, and the game was 4-2 in favor of Dallas after five. Adkins settled down after that, and Caraballo closed it out in the ninth to send the series to a seventh game. Fourth starter Aaron Wilkerson pitched three scoreless innings in relief for the Colonels. The decision by Louisville to use a three-man rotation in the series was questioned in the press box and on the post-game radio shows, especially considering how Wilkerson performed in relief. FINAL: Dallas 4, Louisville 2 The series is tied at 3. Other games: Washington 6, Atlanta 3 (Washington wins the series 4-2) |

Well, since the Colonels won games 1, 3, and 5 I hardly have any doubts about a matchup against Washington.

I'm good at recognizing those. Well, with my team it's more like stretches of seven consecutive lost 3-game series, all 1-2, so you can always predict the result of game 3 ... (bitter look)
Anyways, go get those Washingtonians! |

2006 Federal League Championship Series
Dallas Rattlers (100-62) vs. Louisville Colonels (104-58) GAME 7 @ Louisville: Ronald Austin vs. Antonio Luna The Colonels scored three runs in the bottom of the third, aided by crisp execution on the bases. Simon aggressively stretched a single into a double and then stole third. Rodriguez singled him home and was advanced to second by Luna’s bunt. Hartman singled Rodriguez home and stole second himself, scoring on John’s single. Dallas SP Ronald Austin left with an injury in the sixth, still trailing 3-0. Luna hit 100 on the gun as he struck out Leroy Becker to end the seventh. It was his tenth strikeout of the game and his 116th pitch. The short rest obviously hadn’t hurt him. Simon doubled again with two out in the bottom of the seventh. First base was open and we were sure that Dallas would walk Rodriguez to force a decision on batting for Luna. Instead, they pitched to Rodriguez and he singled to score Simon. Luna stayed in the game with a 4-0 lead. Richardson hit Luna’s first pitch out of the ballpark to open the eighth and the shutout was gone. So was Luna, because we did not want to take chances with a tired pitcher in an elimination game. Dallas continued to threaten against Jones and then Brooks, but finally Trejo came on to end the long inning with the score still 4-1. Closer George King was warming up as the Colonels went down 1-2-3 in the bottom of the eighth, but the strangest move of the series came next. Trejo went back out to open the ninth with two left-handed batters due up and the press box was buzzing. What’s wrong with King? Byrne said later that Trejo was pitching well and he just had a hunch. It was a great hunch. Dallas went down in order in the ninth and Louisville punched its ticket for a third straight World Series appearance. FINAL: Louisville 4, Dallas 1 Louisville wins the series 4-3. The 2006 World Series will be: Washington Admirals vs. Louisville Colonels. Washington will be making their sixth playoff appearance in franchise history and first since 1995. They have never won the CBA championship, losing to the San Francisco Seals in their only other World Series trip (1995). By the way, the OOTP13 pre-season prediction for the 2006 World Series matchup was Atlanta vs. Louisville. The Washington Admirals were picked fourth in their division at 80-82. |
