How long before player popularity adjusts?
I took the MLB quickstart and expanded the league by 2 teams in 2012. I took over one of the 2 new teams myself. My team went 70-92 in the first year, not great but not that bad for an expansion team, realistically speaking. One of the bright spots was Anthony Rizzo, who I got in the expansion draft. He hit 40 bombs and drove in 103 runs in just 137 games for me. Not sure what the Cubs AI was thinking by letting him go, but then FWIW the Cubs actually ended up losing a one-game playoff with the Brewers for the NL Central pennant. Much better than this year's real-life Cubbies.
Anyway, my question is, it's right at season's end, early in the playoffs. You would think that Rizzo's popularity would have gone up by now, having that kind of season, yet he still shows up as "Unknown". How long before this adjusts to reflect his big season? |

It takes a few seasons of outstanding performance (or poor performance) to move the popularity meter up (or down).

Thanks for the response. Seems excessive to me that it would take that long, especially in a case like this where Rizzo's status is "Unknown", but I appreciate the feedback. I'm still learning this game.

I had a player that made the news several times in one season that was an unknown. At the start of the next season he was popular.
I think being in the news affects this to a greater extent than performance but I have no data to support that opinion.
