Exclamation Help fixing botched trade

Howdy, I'm new to OOTP and after playing through my first complete season I got to work making trades for the next season. I traded away my star prospect for a good pitcher, only to discover a couple days later that he was slated for free agency and was no longer on my roster once Nov 23rd hit.

So now I've traded away my best prospect for nothing. The last backup save I have is from the beginning of the season.

So my question is:
-Is there any way to go back and undo the trade?
-If not, is there a save file I can edit somewhere to give myself a contract with the guy I traded for so I'm not just SOL?

Thanks.

Yes.

Got to manager's mode.

Chick commissoners mode.

Initiate the trade.

Select all the same parties.

In commisioners mode there will be an option called force trade.

Use that.

Go back and turn commisioners mode off.

You can also go into Commisioner Mode, enter the Players Profile, click the Editor tab and on the left (I think) you can give him the contract you want and put him on your team).

Yeah...this is the simplest solution if you just want to put the guy back on your team. Editor tab is all the way to the right right after BNN page.
