How do I move a player to the 40-man roster?
One of my players just ran out of time on the 60-day disabled list, and the game says I need to "activate" him before I can continue.
I opened up a spot on the 40-man roster by waiving a player and designating him for assignment, so now the transactions overview page says that my 40 man roster has "39/40" players. However, when I drag the previously-injured player from the disabled list to the 40-man roster area, nothing happens. What do I need to do here? |

Try right-clicking on the player and choosing "place on secondary roster" from the context menu. Your way should have worked, but I have noticed that it does not always.

I think if you drag him to your active roster, he'll automatically go to the 40-man if he has a major league contract. If he's got a minor league contract (and has options), you can just put him on the minor league team's roster and then add him to the 40-man roster.

I see no option on the context menu to "place on secondary roster." It is neither on the main menu nor on the Transaction sub-menu.

EDIT: Do people on the secondary roster HAVE to be either on the active roster, in the minor leagues, or on the 15-day DL? Last edited by asler; 09-28-2012 at 02:38 PM. |

He has to go on the active roster. Simultaneously he will go on the 40 man roster. You could put him on a rehab assignment. That will give you some time.
