Waivers Past Deadline

I am past the trading deadline and I want to put someone on waivers in case I want to trade him or whatever, but when I do so it still says "Are you sure you want to place him on irrevocable waivers?"

It shouldn't be irrevocable, no? How do I put someone on revocable waivers (like every team does with tons of players after the deadline passes.)

OOTP does not replicate all real life roster rules. This is one of them. AFAIK it is a question of cost vs benefit in the programming.

Trade waivers do exist in the game. Work out a trade, complete it and OOTP will place each player on trade waivers. However any claim will negate the trade.

Oh, okay. It still works, but automatically. No advance fishing. Gotcha.

And in an online league it is obvious who is being waived for trade purposes so teams put in a claim to void the trade. Makes post-deadline waiver trades impractical in online leagues unfortunately.
