I don't want to jnyx it, but I think Schmidt will be the first to break 400. He hit 17 last year, so it's entirely possible...
Regardless, I think this is one of the few times that I'm hoping that Bonds Sosa, and McGwire do amazing. I never thought that would happen. |

Josh Gibson
This replay includes Mule Suttles from the Negro Leauges, did it include Josh Gibson and his "800" homeruns too? If so, how did he fair?

If he got the same number of at-bats as Suttles did he would have hit over 600 homers if he maintained the pace he did in limited at-bats. Gibson didn't have any injury problems throughout his career, missing just 2 days with a sinus infection. He was stuck behind a catcher named Rick Ferrell with the Giants though. |

8/13/1988 - Mike Schmidt hits 400th
After 21 straight failures, Mike Schmidt became the first success by hitting his 400th career home run. While Schmidt will come short of his actual total of 548 home runs, I'm still considering this one a success. |

1988 - Robson retired
Tom Robson retired with 734 career home runs, just 12 home runs shy of Bob Lennon and his 746 career home runs. Sixto Lezcano debuted on the career home run list along with Mike Schmidt, while Mickey Mantle (388) and Carl Yastrzemsky (388) both fell off.
