Release & Price?

Any idea when the game is going to be released along with a price?

They haven't released the name of the game yet, so i take it when they do that they will also disclose the release date. I'm guessing beginning of october is the release date. I'm predicting official news to be released within the next week or two at the latest...but that's just my guess.

I'd expect the price to be similar to ootp which is 39.99 but we'll just have to wait to hear official word. From the sounds of it, it's not too much longer

Ah man, I seriously can't wait for this game to come out. The best I have is EHM 2005 as I found out about the game only last year and have yet to find a way to purchase 2007.

40 bucks works perfect for me, can NOT wait to purchase this game!

If you are willing to pay full price for EHM 2007, you can still purchase it. In the Demo there is a purchase button, select buy from desktop with a valid credit card and enter the expiry year manually. But with this game coming up decently soon, it might be better just to wait.

If you can't wait then EHM is the way to go, the modders at theblueline have done an amazing job keeping the game alive so if you do purchase it, before you play go to their site and download some of the mods (roster mod, custom start date, archis scoring realism patch, pre-game/saved game editor etc)

However, with this game coming out shortly i might agree that it probably would make more sense to wait as even with those great mods the game is outdated. I still get aton of fun out of it to this day though.

I've kept my five year old MacBook Pro because it has the mac version of EHM on it (won't play on newer mac operating systems).

Every once in a while i fire it up and add another few months to my now 17 year career as GM of the Carolina Hurricanes(longest continuing game I've done).

Like everyone else I'm chomping at the bit to see what the final product for this game looks like.

I tried buying EHM 2007 with a credit card via the demo route but it did not work. Since then I purchased EHM 2005 and now the demo screen for EHM 2007 will not pop up when I click it.

Might as well just wait for this to come out!

I believe that you can't buy EHM2007 anymore. If I recall correctly, the company shut down the sale last spring. I could be wrong though...

PayPal is an payment method option when purchasing OOTP 13, so it should also be for WTHM.

at one point they stopped selling it i think, then they started again. But if you aren't able to purchase it from the demo than it must not be selling anymore. That is the only way to purchase it...unless someone is willing to sell their copy.

Release & Price?

There is another hockey sim out It's called faceoff hockey 2011 and its available exclusively at wolverinestudios. however it's geared towards more for leagues and online play. It doesn't have a career mode but the new version coming out will have a sample of of the career mode although I do not know how deep the career mode will be because the coding just started for the career mode. But Faceoff hockey 2011 is a pretty good game but again its only historical play. Try it If you can't wait for OOTP hockey sim to come out.

Wow Faceoff Hockey has moved yet again? The last I heard Medley games had it. I owned the last version the orginal developers put out, 2007 I think. They were on their last legs the game was very buggy and previous seasons were few and far between. You are right it was more geared towards online leagues which went into a tailspin when the game came down before the 2008 season.

Medley Games... Wow, I keep checking TC's website for info and sadly it hasn't been updated in a few years. Unfortunate because I was really looking forward to the Stock Car simulator years back when I was more into sim games than I am now.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to WTHM, however I think taking their time will be the answer, especially since we won't get any hockey this year anyway. Or at least not for a long time.

As far as I am aware, EHM remains on sale - but perhaps it has been pulled again. It has been pulled on one or two previous occasions but has always eventually come back on sale. I don't think it is lawful to sell a license to another person (you would have to check the terms of the license) but there has recently been an interesting court case in the EU on this point.

If you can't get the purchase button to work, it might be worth trying to uninstall and reinstall the game.

It's frustrating that the game is still sold at full price. However, with the continued regular roster updates, custom start date patch and various other mods/addons, I think it is still worth the money if you're a hockey management sim fan.

As an aside, we have recently been able to modify the hardcoded league structures, rules and schedules. We should have a beta of the patch ready tomorrow - this expands the size of the Austrian league and modifies a wide range of Euro league rules. It's still early days, but we're making great progress (thanks to Hobbit13).

I think even when OOTP's game is released, EHM will still be a game I'll play a lot of. Both games have their own strengths and weaknesses.

TBL has certainly kept the game alive. It really is a shame that SI doesn't make the game 9.99 or even 14.99. They might of been pleasently surprised with the sales but they've simply left it behind them. Heck they should just make it freeware, it could potentially bring new customers to their football game. But you guys continue to amaze me with the things you are doing with it. Without it, i'd probably be done with EHM a year ago.

It'd be nice if they distributed the games through gog.com.

It would be nice if they sold EHM to another company or person who would further develop it.
In the past they were reluctant to do it at least partially because of the common code between FM and EHM but probably by now there is little common code.
To actually sell the rights to EHM to someone else would take their time and they might think it would be wasted time because they probably think they wouldn't get much for an old game like that.
Unlicencing EHM in preparation for selling the game might take a lawyer's time and cost a bit.

It was said by the creator that the game would require way too much work...so in other words it would almost need to be made from scratch.

Yeah, freeware would be great. I doubt it'll ever happen, unfortunately. I guess from SI's point of view, there's no benefit to the spending time and money making the game freeware - particularly as the game barely made them any money in the first place.

On the plus side, I don't think the EHM community has ever been so active. This past year has been the busiest and most productive to date. Even Riz mentioned to me a while back that he felt the EHM community is bigger now than when the game was in development. This is perfect timing for the release of the OOTP game.

Ps Thanks for the kind words about TBL. We have been extremely fortunate to consistently have a large number of members contribute to the roster updates, facepacks, etc.
