The "we were once part of England" standard might just skew things a bit beyond Canada.

One idea I had, and the "missed the train because the cab got stuck" post brought this to mind is to ensure that some storylines are period-specific. That 1947 piece about missing the train makes sense in 1947, but not 1897 (no cab, carriage instead), or 1997 (plane instead of train). Any events like those would need to be broken down by appropriate eras in order to avoid experience-busting moments of disbelief.

You can already do that with the storyline file, there are fields for "minimum year" and "maximum year".

not sure if this is due to the new version, but I had an old game from day 1 that I lost (I didn't mind losing it) because I re-installed windows again. I downloaded the game fresh a few days ago, and started it up. after the 2012 season was over, starting in november, pretty much every player who makes substantial money (more than $8m a year) was waived. I'm in the Rule 5 draft now and finally caught it, as Pujols, Fielder, Miggy Cabrera, Yadi Molina, Bautista, etc. were all waived (and eligible for Rule 5 draft). After digging I noticed that all those high money guys were waved, some passed through, some were picked up. This messes with the rosters, and I'm afraid I will have to start over....again?

I just tried to process a trade in my online league and the spot to include cash was grayed out. Seems this is a bug unless there is a setting I am unaware of. Never had an issue before.

One thing i keep wondering is why does the AI suggest that i bat Geovany Soto third. I have to go in and change the lineup and move him to the bottom 3rd of the lineup. This will only happen when more then 1 person is giving an off day. When im not playing as the Cubs the AI keep Soto at 3rd in the lineup. Doesn't make sense.

Is this only against left handed pitching? Soto does well against leftys for the most part.

I think that's true but only in one situation: When you have a deal that's being OK'd already by the other side. I noticed the cash box is unavailable although you can still tinker with players and draft picks. And if you do change players or picks, the cash box comes live again. Is that the case with you? I play solo fictional, so this may not apply.

Exactly right.

I am in UK. I have only just got into baseball and have yet to start up ootp13 but have been playing ootp12 on my ipad. Really enjoying it - been so hooked that I went and activated ESPN on my Sky so I can watch baseball on TV

Interesting...thanks. I'll have to keep an eye on this next time I have to process a trade. I think this feature should be disabled when in online mode however.

New update, same old problems with pitching/line-up screens. I suppose I should give up on this ever being fixed.

Presumably the lineup / pitching screens not always defaulting to "all batters" or "all pitchers" respectively. Sometimes the "pitching staff" screen will default to either "all players" or "all batters" for some reason, same thing with the lineup screen. It is rarer than in previous versions though.

Just now, playing my fully patched version of the game. Was on the menu screen. Clicked on the pitching icon for my team. Was brought to the pitching set-up screen with everyone on the bottom listed under starters, middle relievers, sert-up closers etc. And at the top, a very helpful list of my hitters with their batting stats.

Are you sure this isn't a filter issue? Look at the menus above the players and you probably have "all batters" selected and "hitting stats" selected as well. Simply change those over.
