Creating a New On-line League

Hi:

I am having some difficulty in creasting an online league. I have created the folders necessary on the Web site, but when OOTPB 13 tries to log-on, it says that it can not access one or more folders.

I have checked, and all of the folders I created have full-access prviledges. How come you simply can't create a league on a LAN for just a couple of computers instead of having to use FTP?

I take it NOBODY has a clue as to what to do or what I am talking about? Or is everybody on the forum simply ignoring the post?

Well technically you could do a LAN run, by just having a file centrally hosted on a shared server. But you could only access the file one at a time. I don't see a demand for this to be something that resources such as time would get spent on to further that along.

As for the FTP settings... That's really tough to answer without more information. But simply by looking at your posts, are you sure there's not a typo somewhere?

Fidel on the board did some nice youtube videos and its pretty easy to follow along.

But perhaps flesh out your issue more, who's your host? What steps did you take? Are any of them connecting?

Best of luck.

Hi All:

I appreciate the help, and I followed the video tutorial, but when I get to the section of the tutorial where he tests the FTP connection, OOTPB13 attempts to connect, but it only gets to about 50% completion when I get an error saying that it could not connect. I appreciate the effort and feedback...thanks for trying to help.

Who are you using for web hosting? Some free hosts have some strict limits, the file can get pretty big.

If you're testing the connection and getting the "Could not connect" error, then you have entered one or more pieces of info incorrectly. All it takes is an l instead of a 1 or a hidden space after the password to throw everything off. The only other possibility is that you didn't create the FTP account, or didn't note exactly what the username or password were. Recheck those and try again.

I always have more success using the IP address rather than the domain for ftp as well
