Another request: Please make it easy for us to analyze and look over attendance numbers for the history of the league.
I base my popularity of a team on the average attendance as i'm sure most do. If they're only getting 9000 a game when the league average is 17000 then i'd eventually fold them (disbursal draft would be nice - i don't really like moving teams in ootp as the history gets mixed up and i can't tell which one was with which team and when they moved, but i digresss) Please include an average financials screen (perhaps available in commish mode) that shows the league wide averages and profit of the league in general. I love playing ootp strictly as a commish and watching the league grow and profit is a big part of it for me

This is really, really late to say, but if you want a Finnish version for this game, I would be glad to help out in translating it to Finnish.

Mentioning translations brings up a good point. One of the issues that would arise in making OOTP available in other languages is the amount of hard-coded text in the game. How will the hockey sim deal with that if multiple languages are to be supported?

Have any of the developers wrote a message on here in a while? It's been a little quiet on the updates front. I honestly can't wait for this to come out.

It's a chaotic time for me, managing two games at the same time.
![]() But good news is that we released an early beta version to the head researcher team and now fix all the small, annoying bugs that get reported. Our player-, league- and team database growths every day, we just made the jump to 2012/13, adding schedules (if already existing), importing career stats for last season (at least for the NHL player) and move player to there last team. But you guys have not to wait to long for more news, we finalized the name and logo, so it will get presented in the next few days. We will launch a Facebook page and a Twitter account with the announcement. The game still has no final graphics but all baseball graphics are gone and replaced by at least placeholder graphics. So you can expect 1-2 early screenshots short after the name/logo is announced. I saw the question about different languages: in ***13 ( ) we have a) text in external files (like all the news, pbp, scouting text) and the text displayed in the game (like Birthplace, Contract). If we find enough help to translate the game (and that is a lot of work, the news xml file alone has about 50.000 lines of text), all external files can be translated using our online tools and the in-game text get`s extracted from the game, translated and is then put back into the game. We even have a very nice tool to translate the in-game text.

seeing as how international hockey is, it's great to hear that some of the fans here might be willing to assist with translations. That really could mean a difference with this game...
I'd offer to help but sadly i just played games all the years through french class so now i don't even know 3 words in a different language...but those were some good times

Sebastian, and the rest of the team of course I love you!
![]() It's been a long time waiting for the successor to EHM, Doesn't feel like it will ever come out, but checking the forums everyday for the new bits of news haha, can't wait! I understand you're probably too busy to reply so that's cool so I'll just leave the question here anyway.. did you put the DEL on the game? If not just add Vikingstad anyway! Thanks Gazz |

Him?
![]() (Yes, his height and weight are wrong, it's already fixed, just not in my actual test version). In theory, we have over 70 leagues in the game (maybe the number is bigger, its after midnight and I'm tiered from coding) with real named player (and often some basic bio data). But only a few of the leagues will be playable. What does "playable" mean? Playable leagues are fully researched by our team: player with career stats, full bio info, schedules, correct league rules, games get simulated, stats get saved. All other leagues have no real schedule, no real rules, games/stats will be generated with a more basic Game Engine. So what does it take to make a league playable? Mostly man-power. In theory, we can make every league playable if we find people who can research the league. Thats a lot of work, so right now we concentrate on a few very important leagues. What other (smaller) leagues get added for the initial release is impossible to say.

Also 70 or so leagues is a very nice number of them! Playable or not. I get what you mean with which will be added by the first release, Im not somebody who's going to be demanding a full blown 3D match engine and Iphone 6 version before the first version has even been announced ![]() Well I'm sitting hitting refresh with my bank card waiting for the 'buy now' link to appear! |

what about making the "unplayable" leagues playable as fictional with fictional players and fictional rules and schedules defined by the player as it is with ootp?
Leave it to the modders to add in real players, full stats etc etc.

I like the set up with playable and non-playable leagues from the Football Manager series. The non-playable leagues generate just the top players to make the game world more deep but don't affect the computer performance.
The option at the game start up screen is to select a league as playable, as non-playable or to leave it out altogether. It allows for customisation of the game experience by the player reasonably well. For us to change the non-playable in to playable all you have to do is make sure the clubs and the structure of the schedules is correct and other people can add the data if they wish. That way it won't waste precious time for you to get the weight of a fourth line centre in the UK correct but does cater for people who really want a game away from the NHL etc. On the subject of customisation, is there an option to select metric/imperial measurements in the preferences? p.s. Love the sight of a screenshot! |

just being nitpicky but i believe that the "Glove" part in Shoots/Glove should be taken out. Most goalies have their gloves on their left which makes them shoot right so they're classified as righties. When an announcer says 'this guys a lefty' on TV that means the guys glove is on his right. In hockey we don't go by which side the goalies glove it on to call him 'left' or 'right', well, at least not in north america.
Again, i'm know i'm being very nitpicky here for something so minor and more or less insignificant, but just thought i'd throw it out there anyways. (Please don't let my disection of a still-early-build-pre-beta-screenshot-teaser discourage you from posting more...)
