There was some bizarre talk that Ramirez may come to Toronto. No one could understand where he would fit and why.

I'm not sure personality would've been a factor. The clubhouse is loose the team is winning. I think that'd be an easy thing to acclimate oneself to.
Now I'm wondering if our teams will find a match with Escobar. Otherwise Drew from AZ... Not sure who else is out there that is supposedly available. |

11 to Zero in the 6th inning? Coco with 2 HRs? I guess since you can't have a walk off win on the road the A's finish it off early.

So, we're about to get George Kottaras, huh?
Brewers Nearing George Kottaras Deal With A's: MLB Rumors - MLBTradeRumors.com The first thought is that I guess Derek Norris is struggling and could use some more AAA time. Then Kottaras and Suzuki could platoon the rest of the way. My second thought is though - speculating, connecting dots... Suzuki to Toronto is in the works? They just lost Arencibia to injury, we want Escobar... Things that make you go hmmmmm... |

It's Kottaras for Fautino De Los Santos.
I think you'll like Kottaras, he's a fantastic hitter for a catcher. His defense isn't good but he's not awful either, just below average. |

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing how he fits into the lineup. Our catchers overall have been pretty atrocious offensively.

But G&GH is right, we've had no production from our catchers this season. But I don't expect more from Kottaras than we've gotten from Norris this year, except for maybe more walks. We didn't give up a lot for him though. Fautino De Los Santos might be good if he can figure out some control. He actually reminds me a bit of Santiago Casilla, so that is his likely ceiling.

Pretty much but there's a lot of value in that. He's had some great at-bats this year as his plate discipline seems to have improved quite a bit. A 105 OPS+ OBP-heavy catcher is pretty good.
