Game will no longer play. linux/license issue

i have mentioned this in the bug thread and even emailed tech support. however, things have gotten to the point where i can no longer even play this game.

i have 13 installed on linux mint. since day one, the game would not hold it's license. every time i switched from one wireless server (numerous times a day for me) to another, the license would need to be put back in. this is a know bug from last year. Over time, one key stopped working so i switched to the second. finally, that key stopped working but the first one did. i was, for a month or so, able to just switch from one to the other. now, neither key works. i basically have a game that is unusable.

i have have some email correspondence with tech support, but that takes days and right now we are at the point where i have sent them a before and after snapshot so they can see what is causing the issue. problem is, i now have a game i paid for that i can't play.

so now what do i do? any suggestions? i don't want to abandon this game when i'm enjoying it everyday.

You need to make sure that your running the game in administration mode. For Linux I'm not sure but windows it needs to be in that mode. Your best bet will be to read the FAQ on running this game in Linux.

Same Problem as joshuar9476. I cannot do a better job describing it. I am also running it from linux. Every wireless network change I had to change licenses and yesterday both licenses stopped working. PISD has not responded yet. This bug has been around since ootp11 as joshuar9476 states.

Pressure needs to be put on PISD to fix this bug. Are other linux users having this problem and did it come to a head on July 25th? I cannot play ootp13, a sad day.

@ joshuar9476 & weppnesp: This is a known bug and has been brought to the attention of Markus and pisdpaul (pisdpaul is a Developer PISD & OOTP). I very recently tried to remind Markus of this issue but so far no updated word from Markus or pisdpaul.

thank you. at this point all we can do is sit and wait. because i'm on a laptop, i'm constantly switching between networks (mostly home and work).

also, as i said, i did email a before and after snapshot of the issue. if it will help spped things up, i can also post it here or elsewhere.

It seems that the Linux version demo mode is now, since the last patch, the same as the full version. I see no gray areas and it saves game results to the database. Am I wrong? I can pay ootp 13 again, tentatively ...

Are they perhaps lowering security as they try to fix this problem?
