Importing Historical Rookies

When building a historical league and I want them to come in as free agents... do I only keep the "Import Rookies As Free Agents" Box checked? Or do I also keep the box that says "Automatically import historical rookies" checked?

Thanks for all the help bud. Since you seem to know the answer to just about everything, can you tell me when these rookies are imported during the year if they are imported as free agents? What date do they enter the free agent pool, and if I switch to importing them through the draft is there a specific date range I should keep the draft within?

Been awhile since I have had them come in as Free Agents, but I believe it is the 1st day of the Offseason. Just as it would be if they went to their original teams. Draft is up to you, for most of my leagues I have it set between November 1st thru the 10th. I have heard of problems if you have a draft prior to the Offseason, so as long as you have it from the start of the Offseason til Dec 31st you should be fine. Anytime Jan 1st thru OD you will get rookies for the next year not the year you are currently playing.
