C++ Runtime Error

I have a season I converted from OOTP3 that I have had no problems with until recently.

When I finish a season, the program starts to set up the new season, but then I get the following error message:

Abnormal Runtime Error
Program C:\Program Files\ootp4\ootp.exe
Abnormal Program Termination

I have never had trouble like this before with OOTP. I ran diskscan when I got the abnormal runtime error after my 2010 season. Basically, I had no signing periods for managers etc, no free agency, and no off season trades. I had to reset my 2010 season just to get the 2011 season off the ground. Once I did this, I ran Diskscan and had no real problems simming/playing the 2011 season. Now, I am having the same problem at the conclusion of the 2011 season. I don't remember moving anything or changing anything in the game to cause this problem.

I run:

windows 98
geforce 2mx
320 RAM
1.16 GB of available HD space
Direct X 8.1

I am really invested in this particular season
and don't want to start all over. Any ideas/fixes would be appreciated. This is the first time with either OOTP3 or OOTP4 that I have had an issue.

The interesting thing is that I have another career I am running and it seems to be working fine. The career file that is giving me trouble seems to have collected lots of non OOTP4 related sub files. I'm going to try and clean those out and see if that fixes things.

after cleaning out my season file of a bunch of non OOTP4 files, I am still getting the C++
runtime error.

I would recommend you reinstall the game in a different directory and see if that helps. Then move your leagues over if it does.
