What I've actually done is delete all the leagues except for MLB + Minors with the NCAA I, II and NJCAA leagues. Along with that I kept the High School and Dominican/Venuzuelen HS leagues.

So in all I'm playing with mostly an American focused world minus the amateur leagues. It's become very fun.
What really is the killer with this world - and this is b/c of a problem with OOTP - is the amount of coaches it generates. I had nearly 13,000 coaches in the world.

For an unexplained (and some would say DUMB) reason, you can only delete coaches one by one - no mass delete. This creates a massively huge file that can grind your computer to a halt even IF you delete all the players.

There has to be a mass delete for coaches. Don't know why this can't be implemented.

Hello,

i thank you for your work again, the world of baseball is really my best game every year. One question: i want to import NCAA universe of nutt with all division and the asign it to a feeder league for major league. How could i do? Because i have just the possibility when i import it as template to affiliate ncaa world to mlb or other major league.

I thank you for your answers.

Wow this looks amazing. Am looking for a way to get involved with ootp again.. this might be it. Few questions:

Is this compatible with ootp 12?

Are real players being used in the Major leagues? (Votto, Pujols, Etc.)

How would you delete certain leagues? I don't think my computer could handle that much. Thinking about the "American Focused" game mentioned before.

As alluded to previously in this thread, OOTP still has significant problems with generating team personnel. This is blatantly obvious when viewing the "Available Personnel" screen; in WOB the game tends to crash when browsing it, so the only thing I can suggest is doing a save right before looking at it. That way if it crashes, at least you're still pretty close to where you want to be.

I'm working on a Cuban league file using Clay Davenports MLT's to rate the players. It won't be ready for a while since I've only completed 5 of the 16 rosters and have only added stats for one team so far. Hopefully once I'm finished it can be added to the WOB.

Just thought I'd mention it for anyone who might be interested.

Make sure it's the .lg file you have in your "saved games" folder. Then just start the game and load it up.

That might be the problem, there is no .lg, file, only the folder!

Is there something special I need to do?

There should be a file "World of Baseball 13 BETA.lg" inside the "World of Baseball 13 BETA" folder. You want to move that file into the saved games directory and then OOTP should recognize it. If there is no .lg file inside then something went wrong with your download or unzipping.

Sorry to disappoint friends, but there will be no further updates to the WOB 13 BETA...the BETA itself is extremely stable (in my opinion, at least) and should be an adequate enough jumping point for any end-user to tweak/finagle the universe to their liking.

I honestly haven't played OOTP 13 in months and just picked up EHM again...OOTP really needs to address some issues regarding independent leagues and finances before my interest can be sparked again.

Thanks,

Could you explain in more detail about the finances & indy problem so I could take note and try to tweak myself or at least know what to expect down the line?

Thanks again!

Yea I second MJ's request. Its a little hard to keep track of everything discussed in this thread. If you could summarize all the issues that you've come across (and maybe a suggestion on how to solve them) and things that you haven't addressed (I think you might have mentioned cities & stadiums, etc) it would really help those of us willing to play around with this beta.

I just went back and read and from what I can gather, the Indy leagues wont sign players and budget increases.

I noticed that the Indy leagues were set as ML. I wonder if labeling them as an non affiliated minor league would have any good effect.

I've been messing around with this for a few days now, and was just about to start simulating a couple of seasons to see what happens. I guess that I'll post an update here later tonight or tomorrow, now.

By the way, I already changed all of the indy leagues to the International classification (no clue why they were set to ML, or what effect that would have). I also added the Mexican leagues, and messed around with the financials some.
