Exclamation OOTP 13 Update, Version 13.4.17 released! (July 13th)

Hey guys,

we have just released a new update for OOTP 13, version number 13.4.17.

UPDATE INFO:
To apply the patch, simply download the setup file and install it over your current installation. Alternatively, for PC only, there is a smaller patch file which will update your current installation properly. There no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course. If you have modified any default files, please make sure you backup these files and restore them after the update. Your saved games are not touched and will remain compatible with the new version.

Here is the list of fixes / improvements in version 13.4.17 compared to version 13.3.9:

• Added a feature that enables online leagues to broadcast the real-time simulation screen to the league website as a real-time report, so league members can watch the league being simulated live
• Added a "Check teams for roster violations" function to the commissioner home screen
• Added the ability to edit "Projected Budget"; if set, all future budgets of a team can remain constant
• Added a "GM only” mode (in manager options) that prevents the human GM from winning the manager of the year award or appearing in the manager-related history reports
• Added the ability to add leagues to and remove them from existing associations
• Added a "Reset all Injuries & DL status" function to the league setup screen
• Added a "Reset Player Fatigue" function to the league setup screen
• Added a "Reset Player Morale" function to the league setup screen
• Added a "Reset Compensation Type of all Free Agents" function to the league setup screen
• Added an option in the league setup screen to disable automatic Hall of Fame inductions
• Added two new player split stat categories, "As Starter" and "As Reliever / Substitution"; these only work for the current season, though
• Added coach pictures to the team personnel screen
• Added player pictures to the in-game player profile screen
• The payroll between the start of the offseason and the date of free agent filings is now a projection rather than the salaries from the just finished season, resulting in more accurate projected budgets and funds available
• Shortlisted players are now highlighted by having their name displayed in upper case in player lists
• Players discovered through international scouting will now accept minor league contracts if they are very young and years away from reaching the majors
• Improved various aspects of the in-game and roster AI
• Fixed several bugs

IIRC we fixed a few glitches. Also, the owners who had no patience / spending rating got fixed.

Sigh, I was so excited for this, and then 2 days ago my laptop decided to blue screen for no reason, and it looks like the problem is the hard drive, so now I have to wait even longer

Were any of the bugs fixed ones that had to do with Online leagues and league Uploading, MySQL, etc.? Would really like to know exactly what bugs are fixed...

You will all have to be on the same version, otherwsie the Commish will get import errors when he tries to import those with different versions.

Sorry, this part of the game is coded by Andreas, so I do not know exactly what bugs were fixed, but I know that he worked on some reported issues in this area.

I am working on backing up our league files so I can run some tests and make sure everything switches over fine with the update but the sooner other online leagues can offer reports on how the patch does, the better.

Thanks, looks like the patch doesn't touch anything I've modded.

One question, was the scout's picture not added to his screen? I see it if I go into his profile, but it would be nice to see a small picture on his homepage like the managers and staff now have them.

I understand that Andreas handles it, etc, but we would really like to know what changes were made. I don't know the numbers, but I think a lot of your customer base plays in online leagues and sometimes it feels like online leagues aren't getting any attention and that pisses us off. Do you like pissing off a large portion of your customers?

Wouldn't it make sense to communicate with each other and share this type of information with your customers that paid for the product?

I don't really feel like wasting my time seeing if a bug was fixed. I'm a customer not your game tester.

I am sure Markus will find out what Andreas worked on if we just asked. Being a jerk isn't going to be very productive.

I second that on the scouts picture just like the managers and coaches. If i remember right it was in 10, 11 and 12.

Of course we care a lot about online leagues. In fact, Andreas almost exclusively codes the FaceGen & online league related areas of the game. But the online league features are extremely complex and take a lot of time to code & test, so progress here naturally is slower than in other areas of the game.

Anyway, like I said before, I do not know which issues the online league part of the game had and what issues got fixed. And communicating every single bug that got fixed between us two simply would not make much sense and take too much time. Hence, if you want to know for sure if a certain issue got fixed, I suggest sending a PM to Andreas, he'll gladly respond

Paco, it takes five minutes and a screwdriver to replace a laptop hard drive, I've done it twice in the last three months. If money is a problem, check out NewEgg or Amazon or Best Buy, you can get a laptop drive at any of them for way cheap.

My take on it, based on reading this board for six years, is that only a small fraction of OOTP players play in online leagues. But some of the ones that do make a lot of noise.
