Something is wrong...

I'm 56 games into my 2015 season as the Mets, which I play through each game, and something is happening which is taking all fun out of this game. The AI is going crazy with rallies. Not just against good teams, not just once every while, but virtually every single game. Looking through the box scores, I've counted 41 games this season alone. 29 games have been decided by one run. Doesn't matter what the score is, between the 6th to 9th innings, the opposing team will likely tie, or get ahead/behind by a single run. What makes this even more baffling is I have one of the best bullpens, in terms of player ratings (and not just overall ratings, but across the board pitching-wise). It's like the first 5 innings don't matter at all. My starting pitchers have difficulty notching wins because of the nonsense that happens. And its not as if my bullpen has high ERA, but more like a Baseball version of detente: I won't score if you don't score; but if you do, watch out!. It's as if the AI is going to make this a contest by hook-or-by-crook, and it's often the latter. Passed balls, errors, you name it; even managerial moves have no effect. Today I said to myself, after it happened the three previous games straight, that I would post about it if it happened the fourth time...

Playing against the Twins, among the worst teams in my league. My starter, Zack Wheeler (which I've gone through such an effort to groom), pitched 7 strong innings, with the score at that point 2-1 in my favor. My setup man, right-hander Ray White (5 star) comes in for the 8th and shuts them down in order, in under 10 pitches. Score still 2-1 in the bottom of the 9th. I decide to keep Ray White in as he's facing righties and pitched well already, why chance it to pad my closers save stats? I felt vindicated when he got the first two outs in order. Then he walked a batter. Ok, don't panic. Next batter, he beans (the frequency I've seen this occur is a matter for another day).

Okay, gotta bring in my closer, Max Black. Another 5-star pitcher, 1st round pick with nasty stuff and great control with excellent movement. Runners on first and second, two out...batter pops it up (my heart froze), in the infield (exhaled in relief)...and it pops out of my 2B glove (very good overall infield numbers, with a 2B ability of 32). I immediately screamed out "Bull****!". Ok, bases loaded, 2 outs, still can come out of this with a W. Poor hitter up, I bring my outfield in...batter hits a fly ball to short left...which drops for a hit (my LF has good range and excellent overall numbers at his position). Ok, more BS, but just another rally at this point, something I'm well use to. Score is tied at 2, bases re-loaded, 2 outs...and Black's throw gets passed the catcher (defensive ratings of 68 ability, 78 arm, and 90 at his position); one run comes in, ball game over.

This was the last straw, and it's something I've been experiencing so often that I just had to post about it. Its as if the AI literally manufactures runs. Yesterday there was one rally where the game didn't even acknowledge my infielders. Down by 5 runs, they hit ball after ball on the ground through the infield. The game didn't say "gets by Tejada" or "gets by Davis", just that it got hit to short as if they weren't even there. The AI even managed two ground balls through an infield shift. Its as if the AI arbitrarily decided to make this into a close game. Has anyone experienced anything remotely like this?

still fairly new to Iootp, so not alot of help, but (as in the PC version) is there any mechanism to warm up relievers? In my very limited play my bullpen (Soriano, Dotel, Nathan but usually not my closer Kimbrel) get beat up pretty good.

In iOOTP warming up a reliever is disabled (they always come ready into the game).

iOOTP (or OOTP for that matter) do not contain any sort of comeback code. People often think that because they get mad at the own players (I know the feeling, I played in Online Leagues for a long time and cursed my players a lot ) and a few bad outings will always stick more in memory. But just look at the 2012 Redsox, they are a pain to watch, no lead is save until the last out is made.

On a related topic (because I see it a lot): the star ratings are based on position, so a 5-star Reliever is much more common then any other 5-star player with a different position).
