If he's been in the newspapers, he's public domain. Let's just get the sim out and make sure it's the best ever.
Jim, sorry about the name mix up. I was thinking of Joe Stallings when I wrote that. I had just come off the TPF page. Sorry

LOL, no problem. And the "character" rating would never be shown like that. Just give us a chance to implement it and then help us do the right thing if you don't like it. As for the typos, they should not occur this time around, although a few might slip through. Man, you guys take your shots - guess we deserved it.

I really like the charactor issue . i think its adding a whole new element of realism that reflects the sport of boxing.

I'm with crusadecat on this one, it's a neccessary element for a career mode set in 2k3.

I wouldn't be put off by a fairly generic description such as "minor legal trouble" or "major legal trouble" but anything less than that ignores reality in the interest of p.c.'ism.

OK ---

I am for the realism ... but these things (drive bys and rape) should not be a big part of the game.

I want realism in the game play for "past and current" players. Because of legal issues it is best that the game report things very basically -- Fighter A has legal problems unable to participate in boxing for 3 years. ..... Fighter A has suffered injury and can not schedule fight for 6 months. Or a medical problem ..

BUT if you are playing a fictional career and you can develop your fighters character or to evaluate it prior to signing him. ADD the feature to allow you as trainer to spend extra time with a troubled fighter to keep him out of trouble *** Where would Tyson's career be if his trainer/father figure had not died early in his career.

But we want realism .

I agree with the guys who say include the Character rating and all that goes with it. If you want to make it an option to satisfy some of the complainers that's fine, but to not include a good idea like this seems a shame.

sure why not.

I'm 6'3" and 240, so I think we'd be in the same weight class (although I'm guessing you're probably quite a bit younger than I).

Seriously, I wasn't trying to call you out or anything. I was just trying to say if they want to address your concerns (and the concerns of others) they can do so by making it optional and not by eliminating it.

Is the wording of "concerns" better than "complaints"?

LOl...I was complaining I guess. Your 6'3" huh? Well, I'll be happy take the fight for the money and get knocked out in the 1st round and then run... I'm only 5'10".....Speaking of which, how many of you guys are thinking about creating a fighter based on yourself?.....
