Am I missing something

As I have started playing this game. I noticed that sometimes during the PBP it will show for a split second a yellow screen like the one that shows quotes and facts on it sometimes. I never have time to read this and I was just wondering if this is a graphical glitch or am I missing something.


It seems like it may be important or maybe chatter between players, but I really have no clue. Thanks in advance!


Also, if I am missing something, how do I slow it down so I can read it?

its updating player pictures. You can change that setting to every January 1st so they only update once.

It's just the hints file (why they call it that, I don't know). The game shows these factoids and quotes when it must hesitate to do something in the background (like updating player pictures, as Walsh said). You've probably seem them at other times, elsewhere in the game, and don't realize that they are the same things. For example, when loading the game or while doing a long sim.

In your situation, playing out the game, the game pauses just long enough for you to notice them but not to read them. If you really want to get into them, call up hints.txt from your \Documents\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP Baseball 13 folder (that's Windows - don't know Jack about Mac). It's a text file so it should open easy with Notepad. The longer you play this game, though, the more you are going to see them so I wouldn't spoil the surprises if I were you.
